GOBUS travellers come from all over the world - Britain, Australia, Asia, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, South Africa, the States and so on. GOBUS is a great way to meet people and make new friends for life! |
Am I suitable for this style of trip?
This is a question only you can answer. However, when considering one of our South American expeditions, it is important to consider that this choice of holiday is designed for people who have an adventurous spirit and understand that in developing countries things do not always run to plan. South America is a huge continent and so there will be some long days of travelling, but with the stunning scenery you won't be bored! You'll experience life like a local by staying in remote or rustic (but clean!) guesthouses and in cities and towns it will be hotels. Our overland trips require some participation so expect a real hands-on experience as you set up camp, help out at meal times and team up with your fellow travellers as you cross rivers, plains, plateaus and mountain passes. This is South America, expect the unexpected! |

IS MY MONEY SAFE?
GOBUS is owned and operated by Go Travelling, who has been successfully operating adventure tours in Egypt and other far-flung destinations for more than 10 years. GOBUS is a financially bonded member of ABTA and ATOL and TCF. This means your hard-earned cash is as safe as houses, when booking GOBUS. For further details, please also see our website.

IS IT OKAY IF I TRAVEL ALONE?
Yes! We have a lot of single travellers on our tours and it's a great way to meet new friends. You will be sharing accommodation with other travellers and this means that no pesky single supplements need apply.

DOES GOBUS CHARGE A LOCAL PAYMENT?
Yes we charge local payments on our South America tours. This must be paid to your tour leader in US dollars at the start of the tour. Please see each individual trip for amounts.

HOW MUCH MONEY SHOULD I BUDGET FOR?
Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while other travellers like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please refer to the individual go guides for recommendations on how much to allow for food and optional activities. We also advise that you have access to at least an additional US $200 (or equivalent) as an 'emergency' fund, to be used when circumstances outside our control (ex. a natural disaster) require a change to our planned route. This is a rare occurrence! |

WHEN & HOW SHOULD I BOOK MY GOBUS TOUR?
The golden rule is to book early to guarantee your place. The earlier you book, the earlier you can source your flights and this means cheaper prices!
Remember that their are limited places on Inca trail treks, and whilst if full we can put you on the Lares trek, if you are very keen to do the standard trek you should book as soon as possible. |
