Day 1: Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal and the start of your Asian Adventure! You’ll be met at the airport arrivals hall and transferred to your hotel where you will receive an in-depth briefing about your upcoming journey.

Day 2: Kathmandu

This morning there is the option to Enhance you journey and take a stunning scenic flight over the mountains and see Mt Everest. After breakfast, head out with our expert guide for the day to explore Kathmandu and its surrounds. The highlights include the Buddhist Stupas of Bodhnath and Swayambhunath, which are fabulous examples of Buddhist temple architecture and a great place to observe Buddhist life and culture. We’ll also explore Patan Durbar Square, home to more than 50 stunning temples and shrines.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Pokhara

Today we hit the road and make the scenic drive Pokhara, gateway to the magnificent Annapurna Range, which consists of five mountains over 7200m and Machhapuchare Mountain at 7000m. The local people believe that Machhapuchare is sacred to the god Shiva and therefore is off limits to climbing. There’s time to relax this afternoon after check into your hotel.

Day 4: Pokhara

Enjoy an insightful tour of Pokhara today, which concludes with a tranquil boat ride on Lake Pheowa.

Day 5: Pokhara

Today you have a couple of fantastic options to choose from. Firstly, you can opt to make the hike to the World Peace Pagoda or secondly, our recommended option would be to hike to Sarangkot enjoying the views of the landscapes and mountains and observing local people, villages and farms along the way.

Day 6: Pokhara - Chitwan N. P.

This morning we take to the road once again and drive to Chitwan National Park. Chitwan is hailed as one of Asia’s finest game parks and contains many animals including elephants and rhinos, sloth bears and striped hyenas. The remains of today allows for free time for you to choose from the various included optional activities available in stunning Chitwan National Park. Take a nature walk, a jungle drive, ride on an elephant or journey in a dugout canoe and admire the scenery - if you are lucky you may even see an elusive tiger!

Day 7: Chitwan N. P.

Once again today allows for free time for you to choose from the various included optional activities available in stunning Chitwan National Park.

Day 8: Chitwan N. P. - Lumbini

Today we drive south near to the border with neighbouring India. Our destination is Lumbini, where we can visit the birthplace of Lord Buddha in 623BC. The Lumbini Garden is famous for the Ashokan Pillar, which offers epigraphic evidence of Lord Buddha’s birth. Arriving here, enjoy a tour experiencing the interesting Buddhist sites and sounds.

Day 9: Lumbini - Varanasi

This morning we bid farewell to Lumbini and descend from the Himalayan foothills to the planis of India by car destined for the holy town of Varanasi. Perhaps the holiest city in India; Varanasi, also known as Benares or the city of Shiva, is also one of the oldest cities on earth. Sitting on the banks of the holy River Ganges, it has been a centre of learning and civilisation for more than 2000 years and is a place of Hindu pilgrimage. At sunset our guide will take you to visit the ghats for the evening pilgrimage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual you will witness tomorrow.

Day 10: Varanasi

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, after breakfast we embark on a tour of this vibrant and deeply spiritual city. Day 11: Varanasi - Khajuraho

Taking to the sky this morning we make our way into central India and the town of Khajuraho. Arriving here, our local team are awaiting to show you its stunning temples built in the Chandela dynasty over a 100 year burst of creative genius from 950 - 1050AD. The carved temples display exceedingly artistic aspects of Indian life a millennium ago. How and why they were built still remains a mystery.

Day 12: Khajuraho - Agra

Today hails one of India's must do activities that is catching a train! First we drive to Orchha. Situated on the banks of the River Betwa, Orchha is dotted with temples and palaces built by Bundela rulers, which we’ll explore. We then drive to the station in Jhansi and witness the incredible hustle and bustle of the great Indian railways. We catch the Shahabadi Express train that departs at 1730 so sit back and relax enjoying the journey and especially the company of the curious locals along the way. Arriving into Agra around 3 hours later meet our driver who will take you onto your hotel.

Day 13: Agra - Jaipur

The morning begins with touring the legendary Taj Mahal and witnessing a glorious golden sunrise. After breakfast, visit the Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. We then drive to Jaipur, but not without a stop to take in Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water.

Day 14: Jaipur

Early-risers can opt for a morning hot air balloon ride over Jaipur, and sail over hilltop forts, regal palaces, sleepy villages, and stone carved temples. Have a read of the Enhance Your Holiday page for info. Today we enjoy a stately elephant ride and visit to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory before stopping at a cotton weaving house to see a demonstration of fabric dyeing and block printing.

Day 15: Jaipur - Rishikesh

Today we have a day of travel ahead, starting with a transfer to the station where you catch the express train to Delhi (06:00 - 10:00) Arriving into the big city our local team then collect you and drive you onward back to the Himalayan foothills and the sacred town of Rishikesh. This evening simply relax after the journey or head out for a walk along the river to see the evening temple ceremonies.

Day 16: Rishikesh

This morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of this holy city and soak up the views of the majestic Himalayas and sacred river Ganges. For the remainder of today head out to walk around, we highly recommend a walk upto Lakshman Jhula to see the fascinating temples, ashrams, sadhus, monkeys and more!

Day 17: Rishikesh - Delhi

Departing the mountains once more, we descend into the plains of India and head by car for the bustling capital city of Delhi.

Day 18: Delhi

Today enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. Sadly your journey has reached its conclusion. We will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight back home.
