Welcome to Kathmandu. Today you will fly to Paro. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to Thimpu. En Route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the Kingdom which now houses the School for religious and cultural studies. Overnight at Thimpu - Hotel Phuentsho Pelri / similar.
Today enjoy a full day of sightseeing of Thimpu where you will visit the Late King's Memorial Chorten, the National Library, Nunnery, Folk Heritage Museum, the handmade paper factory and the school of arts and crafts. Overnight Thimphu.
Take a morning drive to Paro. After hotel check in proceed on a sightseeing tour of Ta Dzong, Rinpung Dzong , enjoy a walk over the bridge along a stone inlaid path, this offers a good view of the architectural wonder of the Dzong as well as life around it. After breakfast visit Taktshang Monastery (5hrs hike) - It is one of the most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries, perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor. It is said that Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this monastery and hence it is called ‘Tiger’s Nest’. On return to your hotel visit Drukgyel Dzong, Kyichu Lakhang. Overnight Paro.
We say our good byes as you are transferred to the aiport in time for your departure flight to Kolkata. On arrival take a connecting flight to Bagdogra.
