Day 1: Hyderabad
We begin the afternoon with a tour of the State Archaeological Museum, which houses an impressive collection of religious relics, ancient art and archaeological finds. Dating back to the mid-19th century the museum is regarded as one of the best in the country, with highlights including two substantial gallery of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, and an authentic Egyptian Mummy.

Next we move on to the wonderful galleries of the Salar Jung Museum, set on the southern bank of the Musi River. Here you will find an extensive collection of treasures, sourced locally and from the far reaches of the globe, including wooden carvings, miniature paintings, sculptures, religious relics, weaponry, ancient books and much more.

Our last stop is at the Nizam Museum housed in the grand Purani Haveli, which was once the palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad and now offers intriguing insight into the bygone dynasty. On exhibit are the lavish personal belongings of the seventh and last Nizam, many of which were given to him as gifts during his Silver Jubilee celebrations. There is also the phenomenal 176 foot-long walk-in wardrobe spread over two floors that belonged to the sixth Nizam, who is rumoured to have never worn the same clothes twice.
