| One of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World and an enduring Indian icon, the elegant structure known as the Taj Mahal was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who sadly died in 1631, giving birth to their 14th child. In her dying breath, Mumtaz Mahal urged Shah Jahan to build a mausoleum for her, more beautiful than any the world had ever seen. In 1632 building began on the world’s greatest monument to love, which, even today, undoubtedly has no peer. In order to ensure the perfection of the Taj Mahal could not be replicated anywhere else on earth, the artisans and workers who created it, are said to have later had their hands or thumbs amputated. |

Postcards
Here's what some of our past travellers have written in to us and said about their experiences on this trip.
I had an amazing 2 weeks in India. Perfect mixture of sightseeing and free time to relax on the golden beaches of GOA. I will definitely go back there!
Brian Newson, Dec 2009
I felt overwhelmed by the sights & information and the lenght of touring days at times. Although to get it all in was necessary.
Amazing combination of experiences enhanced by the ability of Yousef to tell stories and answer all questions.
Thank you for his patience and sense of humour.
G. Quinn, Oct 2009
Overall I found the tour to be superb. As specified the hotels in general were excellent, the trips and guides were as a rule knowledgeable, informative and enjoyable and the transport was comfortable, safe and efficient. I feel that I must give special attention to the tour leader - Satendra. From the outset of the tour he extended a warm welcome which continued throughout his time with us. He proved to be courteous, knowledgeable, warm, funny, understanding and extremely helpful to all those on the tour.
I would highly recommend India as an interesting destination and On the Go as a well organized company. Thank you!
Sinead McGrath, Oct 2009
Hi Janet,
I wanted to tell you that i had the best time in India! I did the Golden Triangle and Goa tour and it was a perfect choice for me.
Yusuf is a brilliant guide. His in-depth knowledge of history, geography, religion, social affair... you name it - he knew all about it! Very impressive.
Well done On the Go!
