Welcome to the gateway to Gujarat! Arriving into Ahmedabad airport our local driver is on hand to assist with your transfer and check in, to the Lemon Tree Hotel.
Ahmedabad is a mix of medieval and modern, along with the coexistence of Hindu, Muslim and Jain communities, a compelling place to explore. Our full day city tour leads us to the site of Gandhi’s ashram and the place where he launched his celebrated march against the Salt Law. Also, the Calico Museum to learn all about regional and national textiles and Kankaria Lake which was built by Sultan Kutubuddin in 15th century. The work was completed in 1451 CE and was known as "Qutub Hojj" or "Hauj-e-Kutub" and primarily was used for bathing by the kings you will see much has changed with your visit today.
Today our full day city guided exploration leads us to the old city, to view the finest blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural style known as Indo-Saracenic. We also get to visit the interesting Vintage Car Museum with its incredible collection and the ancient Adalaj Step well. We conclude the day with visiting and taking in the magnificent architecture of the Akshardham Temple.
