Day 1: Kolkata

Namaste! Welcome to India and the start of your holiday. We will be there to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Kolkata

Kolkata is an amazing example of East meets West. Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour which includes the Flower Market, Howrah Bridge, a boar ride on the Hooghly River. You will also have an excursion to Bishnupur for the temples and to see the village and have a guided walk around the vity markets and streets.

Day 3: Kolkata - Khajuraho

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Khajuraho. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon we enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of the city including the Chandela Dynasty temples built between 950-1050 AD.

Day 4: Khajuraho - Jaipur

Today we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Jaipur, via Delhi. Upon arrival into Jaipur we will be there to collect you and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 5: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Rest of the evening is free and at your leisure. (Diwali Festival of Lights)

Day 6: Jaipur - Agra

Today we transfer you by road to Agra, about 4 hours. Upon arrival you will have the rest of the day free.

Day 7: Agra

Today we rise early to see the Taj Mahal in its ethereal morning light. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. Remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8: Agra

Today you will be transferred by road to Uchagaon, about 4 hour drive. Overnight - Fort Uchagaon (Uchagaon).

Day 9: - Haridwar

Today we continue on to Hardiwar, another 4 hour drive.

Day 10: Haridwar - Rishikesh

Today you will have short drive to Rishikesh. Known as the Yoga Capial of the World, Rishikesh is set on the banks of the Ganges and surrounded by hills, as such by its nature it is a perfect place to relax.

Day at leisure with vehicle at disposal within city limits.

Day 13: Rishikesh - Delhi

Today you will continue on to Delhi by road, about 4 hours. Free afternoon.

Day 14: Delhi - Amritsar

Today you will be transferred to the station for your train to Amritsar (Train #2029 Swarna Shatabadi at 0720/1325 hrs in AC Chair Car). Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 15: Amritsar

Today a visit to the Famous Golden Temple the seat of the Sikh religion, Amritsar is one of the Punjab’s principal cities. Built in 1803 and made of marble, copper and pure leaf gold, the temple is an amazing architectural feat. Also you will enjoy a visit to Wagah - the only border crossing between India and Pakistan for the sunset ‘Retreat’ ceremony, where the changing of the guards & ceremonial lowering of the flags is performed with great pomp.

Day 16: Amritsar - Delhi

Free morning. Later you will be transferred to the station for your train back to Delhi (Train #2030 Swarna Shatabadi at 1700/2305 hrs in AC Chair Car). Here you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 17: Delhi - Ajmer

Today you will be transferred to the station for your train to Ajmer (Train #2015 Ajmer Shatabadi at 0641/1300 hrs in AC Chair Car). Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel in Ajmer. You will then be transferred 1 hour to Pushkar for a visit, before returning to your hotel..

Day 20: Ajmer - Mumbai

Today you will be transferred 3 hours to Jaipur for your flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Free afternoon.

Day 21: Mumbai

This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people

Gateway to India

Day 22: Mumbai - Kochi

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Kochi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This commercial city, also called “The Queen of the Arabian Sea” is famous for its exquisite designer Gold Jewelry. The Indian Navy, the Port and the Airport share the largely man-made Willingdon Island. Today you have an afternoon city tour and will watch the Chinese Fishing nets.

Day 23: Kochi - Alleppey

This morning a short drive from Kochi to Allepey brings you to the area where tommorow you board your house boat. It is very peaceful - simply sit back, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds in your own time.

Day 24: Alleppey - Periyar NP

Disembark from the houseboat and drive to Periyar. A 5 hour drive south to Periyar, South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary and home to bison, antelopes, sambar, wild boar, birds and even the odd tiger! Kumli, close to the sanctuary and where you will stay, is a pretty little town dotted with small spice and handicraft shops. There is plenty to do in and around Periyar, so we leave the choice to you.

Day 25: Periyar NP

Visit spice plantation. Free day.

Day 26: Periyar NP - Kumarakom

Today you will be transferred to Kumarakom (about 3.5 hours), and transferred to to your hotel.

Free day, with vehicle at your disposal within city limits. The choice is yours!

Day 28: Kumarakom

Today you will be transferred to Kochi airport (about 2 hours) for your onward departing flight.
