The grand entrance into Delhi's famous Red Fort

Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours. Upon your arrival at Delhi's international airport you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel for check in. Remainder of the day at leisure. Your hotel room has been booked for your early morning arrival at 01:10am so that you can check straight in to your room.

Day 2: Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi. The order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the disorganised chaos of the Old City but both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 3: Delhi - Agra

An early morning start today as we drive you to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will have a sightseeing tour of Agra Fort, which was built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 and contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque.

Day 4: Agra - Jaipur

This morning we visit the magnificent Taj Mahal at sunrise. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Enjoy your own time to explore and Later we take a drive out to the ghostly fortified city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area. We continue on through the Rajasthan countryside to the Pink City of Jaipur. Upon arrival check in to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style on top of an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city, taking in the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Day 6: Jaipur

Day at leisure with a car at your disposal to independently explore Jaipur.

Day 7: Jaipur - Bikaner

Departing Jaipur this morning we drive to Bikaner where you will enjoy an afternoon tour. Much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives. We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 & 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh.

Day 8: Bikaner - Jaisalmer

After breakfast this morning enjoy a visit to the unusual Karni Mata Rat temple, famous for its black rats which are treated as sacred. Afterwards we continue our journey through Rajasthan and make our way to Jaisalmer.

Day 9: Jaisalmer

Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city including the sandstone fort which is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Later this afternoon we will take you on an exciting camel safari on the Sam sand dunes. The desert is spinkled with ruins and tiny fields of millet. Camping out at night, huddled around a fire under a blanket of stars and listening to camel drivers songs is magically romantic.

Day 10: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

After breakfast in the desert we will drive to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. The rest of the day is at leisure with a car at your disposal.

Day 11: Jodhpur

A full day sightseeing tour of the city today, taking in the old city, which is surrounded by a 10km-long wall. In the old city are a tangle of streets and alleyways, bazaars and human traffic. Standing at the edge of the Thar Desert, the city is dominated by its massive fort, which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town. Meherangarh Fort, still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur is an impressive sight. Later during free time, why not explore the Clock Tower markets, where you can bargain for spices, richly coloured Rajasthani textiles and ornaments.

Day 12: Jodhpur - Udaipur

Leaving Jodhpur, we drive to Ranakpur, a small town tucked away in a remote valley and famed for its beautiful 14th century Jain temples. We continue to the romantic city of Udaipur - the very essence of what it is to be in Rajasthan. Upon arrival at your hotel you will have free evening to wander on the shore of Lake Pichola and take in the fresh air of this desert oasis.

Day 13: Udaipur

This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take a boat ride on Lake Pichola.

After a leisurely morning today we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Delhi (FLIGHT BOOKED INDEPENDENTLY). End of services.
