Day 1: Kathmandu

Welcome to Nepal and the start of your journey of a lifetime! You’ll be met by our local team on arrival and transferred to your hotel where you will receive a welcome drink and a briefing about your trip.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Today we enjoy guided sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. Admire the view from Swayambhunath Stupa, the most ancient of the Valley’s holy shrines, also known as Monkey Temple because of the many holy monkeys residing here. Visit the large and beautiful Buddhist stupa of Bodhnath, adorned with thousands of candles made with butter. These unusual lights are said to aid meditation and are replenished by worshippers who donate butter as a way of gaining extra karmic merit. Then explore magical Durbar Square - a complex of royal palaces and temples, and the social, religious and urban focal point of the city.

Day 3: Kathmandu

This morning there is the option to take a stunning scenic flight over the Himalayan mountains and enjoy spectacular views of Everest - the world's highest mountain (book and pay locally). After breakfast we take a short drive to Kirtipur, also known as the City of Glory. The well-preserved old town contrasts developed Kathmandu with its unpaved narrow lanes. Admire the amazing views of the Kathmandu Valley from the top point of Kirtipur. We continue to the historic town of Patan, sometimes referred to as Lalitpur, meaning City of Beauty, and admire the rich collection of temples and monasteries in the area.

Day 4: Kathmandu

Day 5: Kathmandu - Delhi

Enjoy a morning at leisure before you fly to Delhi with Jet Airways. Arriving here we will transfer you to your hotel to relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 6: Delhi

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque. This afternoon why not further enhance your exploration of this busting city with an afternoon guided journey through the New Delhi area the highlights will include India gate a drive past parliamentary buildings and President's house, a guided visit to Humayun's tomb then concluding with sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage Site Qutub minar. Day 7: Delhi

Day 8: Delhi - Amritsar

After breakfast, we transfer you to the station for the Swarna Shtbdi express train to Amritsar. The train departs at 07:20 am and arrives at 13:25. Arriving here, meet your local driver and set out for the hotel. This afternoon we’ll drive to the final frontier, Wagah, to watch the sunset changing of the guards and ceremonial lowering of the flags.

Day 9: Amritsar

Today a visit to the Famous Golden Temple the seat of the Sikh religion, Amritsar is one of the Punjab’s principal cities. Built in 1803 and made of marble, copper and pure leaf gold, the temple is an amazing architectural feat. Your days exploration with our expert guide will also include Durgiana Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and of course, Ranjit Singh Panorama.

Day 10: Amritsar

Day 11: Amritsar - Shimla

Today we ascend from the plains of India and make our way to the mighty Himalayas! We start with an early train from Amritsar departing 05:25 - arriving at 09:45 into Chandigarh Train station. Here you will transfer by car to Kalka and embark the narrow gauge Himalayan Queen Toy Train travelling to Shimla. There are 102 tunnels to navigate and some 863 multi-arched galleries bridges (similar to ancient Roman aqueducts) to cross where spectacular landscapes of rolling hills, lush valleys and panoramic vistas can be seen. Arriving in Shimla our local guide will escort you to your hotel.

Day 14: Shimla - Delhi

Today offer free time for you to independently explore, opt to stroll, drop by the colourful Lakkar Bazaar or hike to the summit of Jakhoo Hill, Shimla’s highest point where visitor’s are rewarded with panoramic views of the eternal snows set as a backdrop to the sleepy township of Shimla beneath. Hotel check out is at 12 noon, opt for some lunch and pack an evening picnic meal before boarding the Kalka Shatabdi Express at sunset and arriving to Delhi at 21:55pm. Onward transfer to your hotel.

Day 15: Delhi

Bid a fond farewell to India! We will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
