Welcome to India and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours! Upon arrival at Mumbai's international airport you will be met in the arrivals hall and transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to Aurangabad. Arriving there you will be transferred to your hotel for check in and overnight at the Keys the Aures hotel.
Enjoy an excursion to Ajanta Caves. Nestling in an inner fold of the Sahyadri hills, 100 kms from the city of Aurangabad in the shape of a mammoth horseshoe are the 30 rock-hewn caves of Ajanta, dating from 2nd century B.C. Discovered in 1819, by a group of British Offcers, these startling achievements took around 600 years to create. Carved with little more than a hammer and chisel, Ajanta, once the retreat of the Buddhist monastic orders features several ‘Chaityas’ and Viharas.
Today you will be able to explore the World Heritage-listed caves of Ellora on a half day's sightseeing tour. Over five centuries, monks carved monasteries, chapels and temples in the escarpment and today there are 34 rock cut caves. Enjoy some time at leisure at Ellora before transferring back to Aurangabad.
This morning we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Udaipur (via Mumbai). Upon arrival into Udaipur you will be transferred to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.
An oasis of cool with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples. This morning enjoy a city tour taking in the imposing City Palace and after some free time to explore and perhaps shop for colourful Rajasthani souvenirs and Indian spices, enjoy a cruise on Lake Pichola. [Please note that hotel check out is at 12 noon]. Later this evening we transfer you to the railway station for your overnight train to Jaipur.
Arriving into Jaipur around 6am this morning you will be met at the railway station and transferred to your hotel [check in time is 12 noon]. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After check in embark on a city tour which includes a visit to the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire, and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! Departing Jaipur later today we drive to Agra via the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area.
Today we visit the magnificent Taj Mahal at sunrise. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort, built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, which contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. Once sightseeing has concluded you will be transferred to Delhi.
The next four days are at leisure and you are free to explore Delhi independently or opt for one or more of our Enhance Options to make the most of your time in India's capital (see the Enhance Your Holiday page for more details).
Today marks the end of your incredible journey with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport in time for your onward departure flight.
