Welcome to India and the start of your romantic honeymoon! Arrive Delhi and you local rep will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.
This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. Late afternoon we transfer you to a wonderful family home cum cooking school to learn about North India cuisine then bonus you get to eat it.
Today we travel by express train to Jhansi - Arrival transfer to Khajuraho. Enjoy visiting the Chandela Temples.
Morning drive to Bandhavgarh NP - Check into the lodge. Afternoon game drive.
Arrival transfer and check in. Later we visit the impressive Agra Fort, which boasts some of India's finest Mughal buildings behind it's fortified walls. Later on we take a motorised buggy to the legendary Taj Mahal and witness a magical sunset. Built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century as an enduring memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers
En route to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. As we get closer to Jaipur we stop for a tasty lunch and visit Chandra Haveli, a charming haveli (mansion house) with small courtyard, lawned gardens and rustic appeal carefully being restored to the splendour of better farming years (if open, currently under renovation till Dec 2012). Once in Jaipur enjoy time to relax at the hotel.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
After a morning exploring the city we drive to Narlai for your two night stay at the 17th century fortress. Arrival and check in to your room that is adorned with beautiful ornate furnishings.
Today and tomorrow you can enjoy various optional activities like back country horse riding, Trekking or Rock Climbing (payable locally) Rawla Narlai is a hotel located in the heart of a typical Rajasthan village bustling with activity and bursting with colour so head out and explore and have a true authentic Indian experience. This evening we have booked for you a romantic dinner located at the ancient step well of Narlai.
Early transfer to Jodhpur where you fly back to Delhi and connect to your late PM flight back.
