Varanasi Ghats

Day 1: Varanasi

Welcome to Varanasi and the start of your exclusive journey in central/north India. Arriving into Varanasi Airport, you will see our friendly local team waiting to transfer you to your hotel. This evening meet with our local guide who will take you down to the river to see the evening ritual worship that takes place.

Day 2: Varanasi

In the early morning of we will enjoy a boat ride on the holy Ganges River. Later in the day we embark on a tour of India’s spiritual city taking in some of the more notable historic temples, ancient ghats and historic buildings.

Day 3: Varanasi

Take the opportunity to see Ganges but without the chaos of Varanasi, Chunar (40 kms from Varanasi) is a great option. The town has a huge fort overlooking the river Ganges, a perfect setting! Former site of many battles and under Muslim, Mughal, Afghan and British rule, the fort not only has great views of the Ganges, but intriguing ruins such as a sun dial, a huge well, prison and execution rooms and more. This afternoon we explore Sarnath, which is where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men; preaching the middle way to final 'NIRVANA’.

Day 4: Varanasi - Khajuraho

This morning enjoy a relaxing breakfast, before we head to the airport tocatch our flight to Khajuraho. Close behind the Taj Mahal and up there with Varanasi and Jaipur, are the amazing temples of Khajuraho. Immortalised in stone is a wealth of sensuous and erotic sculptures. This afternoon we visit these famous temples.

Day 5: Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh NP

This morning we hit the road and drive deep into tiger country and the national park known as Bandhavgarh. Arriving at the park, we settle into our accommodations then head out on a game drive to see the wildlife.

Day 6: Bandhavgarh NP

Bandhavgarh is set amidst the Vindhyan ranges. Claiming to have the highest density population of Bengal tiger in India, coupled with a population of leopard, nilgai, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, gaur, sambar deer and colourful bird life, game drives are often peppered with sightings. This morning and afternoon, enjoy game drives on a shared jeep to see the incredible wildlife.

Day 7: Bandhavgarh NP

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to Jabalpur Airport in time for your flight to Delhi or Mumbai depending on what time and where your international flight leaves from.
