Day 1: Delhi

Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.

Day 2: Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more. (Red fort is closed on Mondays in Delhi)

Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur

Today we will drive you to Jaipur. A favourite of travellers, the architecturally flamboyant capital of Rajasthan is often referred to as the ‘Pink City’. Arrive Jaipur and transfer to your hotel for the night.

Day 4: Jaipur

Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Day 5: Jaipur - Ranthambhore NP

Today we will drive you to Ranthambore national park. Ranthambore was established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955 by the Indian Government, and was declared one of the Project Tiger reserves in 1973. Ranthambore became a national park in 1980. Located in the Sawai Madhopur district of the state of Rajasthan, Ranthambore is one of India’s most scenic parks and a prime example of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts. Early afternoon game drive in a shared Jeep or Canter.

Day 6: Ranthambhore NP

Morning and afternoon game drives in a shared Jeep or Canter.


Day 7: Ranthambhore NP - Agra

Transfer to the railway station for the train to Bharatpur. Train NZM Jan Shatabdi, departs at 0705 and arrives at 0923-Air conditioned chair car. Arrive Bharatpur and drive to Agra. Enroute we visit Fatehpur Sikri with its tremendously atmospheric complex of monuments and temples, all in a uniform architectural style. Arrive Agra and later this afternoon enjoy a visit to the Agra Fort. We visit the Taj Mahal at sunset.

Day 8: Agra - Orchha

Today we will transfer you to the railway station for train to Jhansi. Train Bhopal Shatabdi , departs at 0811 and arrives at 1045 hours-Air conditioned chair car. Arrive Jhansi and transfer to the hotel in Orchha . Later this afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour of Orchha. The village is set amongst an impressive complex of well-preserved palaces and temples. The Jehangir Mahal, a 17th century palace is a stunning and rambling complex, offering great views of the countryside from its upper levels. The Rang Mahal nearby possesses nice murals. Below the Jehangir Mahal is the smaller Raj Praveen Mahal, a palace built near a garden.

Day 9: Orchha

Free day and at your leisure to explore Orchha on your own

Day 10: Orchha - Khajuraho

Today we drive from Orchha to Khajuraho. Arrive Khajuraho and transfer to your hotel. Later enjoy a temples tour of Khajuraho. Khajuraho is famous for its unique temples that rate a close second behind the Taj Mahal. Khajuraho’s temples were mostly built during a major creative burst of genius from 950AD to 1050AD during the Chandela period, a dynasty that survived for five centuries before falling to the mighty Mughal onslaught. Their sheer beauty and immense size has confounded experts as to why and how they were built in Khajuraho, a small town then and still a relatively small town now.

Day 11: Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh NP

Today we will drive from Khajuraho to Bandhavgarh which is set amidst the Vindhyan ranges. Claiming to have the highest density population of Bengal tiger in India, coupled with a population of leopard, nilgai, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, gaur, sambar deer and colourful bird life, game drives are often peppered with sightings. Evening game drive today in a shared Jeep.

Day 12: Bandhavgarh NP

Enjoy a morning game drive in a shared Jeep in the park. This afternoon enjoy some time to relax and enjoy the facilities of your lodge.

Day 13: Bandhavgarh NP - Varanasi

Enjoy your final morning game drive in a shared Jeep and hopefully spot your last tigers. Later we will transfer you to Katni railway station. Train LTT BSB Super Express, departs at 1750 and arrives the next morning at 0350 hours-2nd class air conditioned sleeper.

Day 14: Varanasi

Arrive Varanasi and you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Later today enjoy a visit to Sarnath. This evening we will take you to the river banks of the Ganges to view the Aarti ceremony.

Day 15: Varanasi - Delhi

Early morning enjoy a boat ride on the River Ganges to see the morning ritual cleansing. Later enjoy a full day guided tour of the city taking in it's key temples and points of interest and an walking tour of the fascinating back streets and alleys of this truly historic city. Highlights include Banaras Hindu University, Vishwanath Temple and Durga Temple. Later this evening we will transfer you to the railway station for the overnight sleeper train to Delhi. Train Shivganga Express, departs at 1915 and arrives at 0740-1st class air conditioned sleeper.

Day 16: Delhi

Arrive Delhi and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is free and at your leisure.

Day 17: Delhi

Today we transfer you to the Airport in Delhi in time for your flight back home. End of our services.
