Welcome to India and the start of your amazing adventure. We'll be there at the Delhi international airport to greet you and transfer you to Agra. After arrival and hotel check in, enjoy some time to freshen up before we visit the legendary Taj Mahal for a special sunset.
This morning we visit the Agra Fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. We then return back to Delhi for our 14:45 flight to Chennai. On arrival we will collect you and drop you at your hotel where the remainder of the evening can be spent at leisure.
Today we enjoy a full day of sightseeing around Chennai, India's fourth largest city with a compact and friendly feel. Highlights include the vast Fort of St. George, the interesting Government Museum and the intricately designed Kaplaeeswarar Temple.
After breakfast we make our way to the airport for a morning flight to Bangalore. Arriving into Bangalore just before 13:00pm you will be greeted with an arrival transfer and taken to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure or perhaps explore the city independently.
Bangalore with its salubrious climate, tree-lined avenues and trendy downtown offers one a picture of striking contrasts. There are old beautiful bungalows, parks, hallowed places of worship and traditional market-places on the one hand, balancing with fashionable shopping malls, pubs, new architectural wonders and modern looking religious centres on the other. Enjoy a day of sightseeing. Highlights include Vidhana Souda and Cubon Park.
After breakfast we transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Kochi, a living homage to a varied colonial past. On arrival we transfer to Alleppey where we board a traditional houseboat and cruise the glorious Keralan backwaters. The on board cook will prepare delicious meals from local ingredients while you relax under the sun and watch the world go by. Tonight will be spent on board.
Today we disembark from the houseboat and transfer to Kovalam Beach, a lovely slice of sand and perfectly swaying palms. The rest of the day is free for you to relax - head down to the beach for a spot of swimming or lounge in the sun and catch up with a good book.
Today we enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Trivandrum, the ambient capital of Kerala. Charming winding lanes, pagoda-shaped buildings and an unhurried pace of life are just part of its appeal along with an impressive zoological garden, a 260 year-old temple and a palace museum.
Today is a free day for you to enjoy at leisure. Stroll for miles along white palm fringed sandy beaches, try sampling the local seafood and sipping cocktails on your sun lounger - it's the perfect way to unwind.
After breakfast we transfer to the airport in Trivandrum for your flight to Mumbai. On arrival we transfer to your hotel. Later in the afternoon we enjoy a sightseeing tour of this pulsating city, famous for the Bollywood film industry. Highlights of the tour include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Later this afternoon we transfer you to the airport for your onward departure flight, marking the end of your holiday with On the Go Tours.
