Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will met you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel, with the rest of the day at leisure.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today, we drive to the semi-desert Shekhawati region. The small towns in this region became important trading posts, a lasting legacy of which are the beautiful painted havelis (mansions) constructed by wealthy merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. Free afternoon to explore the village.
Driving onto Bikaner, on arrival we will enjoying a city tour today, much of the atmospheric old town is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives.
Leaving Bikaner we drive onto Jaisalmer, arrival and check into our hotel. Remainder of today at leisure.
Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city including the sandstone fort which is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Later this afternoon we will take you on an exciting camel safari on the Sam Sand Dunes. The evening is free and at your leisure to enjoy the city on your own.
Driving today to Osian Camel Camps. The desert is sprinkled with ruins and tiny fields of millet. You may like to opt for camel safari, the most evocative way to sample desert life.
Today, we travel to Jodhpur, the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur, the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city, and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defenses against mosquitoes! Afternoon sightseeing tour - the Majestic Fort and old town.
Today we head to Rohetgarh to stay in the Rohetgarh Fort. This 375 year fort lies on the banks of a small lake teeming with bird life. The royal family still live in a part of the fort and supervises the workings of the hotel. Restored in the traditional Rajput style and is seeped in family history.
After checking out of our lovely hotel we drive to Udaipur. En-route we will visit the Jain Temples at Ranakpur. The remainder of today is free.
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening we will take ride in a boat on beautiful Lake Pichola.
Today we drive to Bijaipur. Free time to explore the city. This evening we go on a village safari.
Travelling onto Pushkar. Enjoy a free time to explore the Temples, Bathing Ghats, onion shaped domes and chalk colored buildings of Pushkar at our leisure. On our exploration we are sure to see plenty of Sadhus (spiritual men) and chilled out travelers as this is an important pilgrimage centre.
Driving onto Jaipur - 'The Pink City' enjoy some free time this evening to relax in this bustling Rajastani city.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where you will enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
An early morning start we will drive to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will have a sightseeing tour to the Agra Fort, before watching the sun set on the Taj Mahal. Guided tour and plenty of free time to explore.
Leaving The Taj Mahal behind, we drive back to Delhi. Remainder of today at leisure.
Today we bid farewell to India. Transfer to Delhi International Airport for our flight back home.
