Day 1: Kochi

Welcome to India. You'll be met at Kochi airport and transferred to your hotel. This evening we watch a performance of Kathakali, the traditional dance of Kerala

Day 2: Kochi - Alleppey

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of historic Fort Kochi. We see the elegant Chinese fishing nets and explore the winding streets of the old town, visiting St Francis’ Church, Parsi Synagogue (exterior only) and a Dutch palace. After our morning's sightseeing we drive to Alleppey. Upon arrival we board a simply furnished houseboat for a journey through the lush backwaters. The boat takes us sedately along the enchanting palm-fringed backwaters, covering a distance of some 20 kms, during which time the boat glides past local villages and interesting scenes of everyday rural life. Days 3-4: Alleppey - Kovalam

After breakfast we disembark the houseboat at Kumarakom. Perched sleepily amongst a tangle of verdant tropical waterways, the area is known as the Keralan backwaters, Kumarakom is technically a cluster of islands on Lake Vembanad - one of Asia’s largest freshwater lakes. This is an ideal place to relax for the next two days, enjoy the beautiful scenery and laid back pace.

Day 5: Kovalam - Mysore

Today we will transfer approx. half an hour to Trivandrum airport for your flight departing 13:40 to Bangalore arriving 14:50. Upon arrival we will be there to pick you up and transfer you approx. 3 hours to Myrsore for the evening.

Day 6: Mysore

Today enjoy a half day tour including Mysore Palace, Chamundeswari temple and Devraja fruit vegetable market. The remainder of the day is free for you to relax or explore independently.

Day 7: Mysore - Delhi

Today we will transfer you back approx. 3 hours to Bangalore airport for your flight departing approx. 16:30 to Delhi arriving approx. 19:10. Upon arrival we will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel for the night.

Day 8: Delhi - Agra

Early this morning we will drive you to Agra. here we will visit the colossal 15th century Agra Fort and Baby Taj. The remainder of the day is free.

Day 9: Agra - Patna

This morning we visit possibly the most recognised of all India’s landmarks, the Taj Mahal; built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century. We continue on to visit ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified city was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned dramatically due to a lack of water to support the peoples who resided in the city. You will then be tranferred to Delhi airport for your flight departing approx. 17:10 to Patna arriving approx. 18:55. Upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel for the night.

Day 10: Patna - Bodhgaya

Today you will be transferred to Bodhgaya. Enroute we visit Nalanda one of the oldest universities and internaionl centre for Budhist studies. We also visit Gridhakuta Hill and Bimbisara in Rajgir. Upon arrival in Bodhgaya we visit Mahabodhi Temple, the Bodhi Tree and Sujatha Village. Overnight Royal Residency (standard room).

Day 11: Bodhgaya

Sadly your last day with us with your departure airport transfer to Bodhgaya Airport.
