Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! You will be met at Delhi International Airport by our friendly local team and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure to explore or relax as you like.
The morning is spent at leisure before we travel by private car to the pink city of Jaipur. Arriving here, sit back and relax at your gorgeous heritage hotel or head out for a wander in your own time.
This morning you will have to look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. This afternoon perhaps opt for a journey of discovery through the historic pink city of Jaipur we start with a photo stop in front of Jal mahal (lake palace) thereafter visit the ancient astronomical observatory of Jantar mantar and thereafter a guided tour of the city palace complex and it’s fascinating nooks and crannies. After breakfast, we have a 3-4 hour drive to Ranthambhore National Park. We check-in, freshen up and then venture out for an evening game drive.
This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country's best for observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. For today and tomorrow head out in a shared jeep or canter to see the wildlife on morning and afternoon game drives.
This morning you'll be taken to Sawai Madhopur to board the train for Bharatpur - home to Keoladeo Ghana National Park. This afternoon with a naturalist guide head into the park to see the rare birds.
Rated as one of the finest bird reserves in the world, over 350 species of birds have been identified at the park. Spend the entire day with a naturalist guide spotting the birdlife.
This morning we drive to Agra. Once in Agra, the Mughal capital of India, a visit is made to the Taj, where you’ll see first-hand, the efforts Emperor Shah Jahan went to in constructing a solid white marble mausoleum for his beloved wife, Mumtaz. After, we drive to the Chambal Safari Lodge where, this evening enjoy your birthday in style in your lovely natural surroundings.
Today enjoy the full day out in the wilderness of the Chambal River where you can see fantastic birdlife and see one of the most endangered crocodiles in the world known as the Gharial. Later we drive the short distance back to Agra, where you’ll board the train to Umaria.
An early morning arrival at Umaria, then a short drive to Bandhavgarh where you’ll enjoy the first of your game drives.
Bandhavgarh is set amidst the Vindhyan ranges. Claiming to have the highest density population of Bengal tiger in India, coupled with a population of leopard, nilgai, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, gaur, sambar deer and colourful bird life, game drives are often peppered with sightings. For today and tomorrow enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park by shared jeep.
we journey to Kanha via a fossil park. Kanha is one of India’s largest parks, covering 1945 sq. km of forest and lightly wooded grassland. Arriving at your lodge you will venture out on the first of your game drives by shared jeep.
This is the land that Kipling wrote so vividly about in his literary classic ‘Jungle Book’. Kanha National Park has a tremendous variety of wildlife - including the Bengal tiger, leopard, sambar, chital, blackbuck, gaur, swamp deer and jackal. For today and tomorrow enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park by shared jeep.
This morning drive to Jabalpur to board the flight back to Delhi. Arriving into Delhi, a local driver is on hand to take you onto your hotel.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque and the colourful Chandni Chowk bazaar. This afternoon, enjoy a tour of New Delhi. Open and relatively streamlined New Delhi was built as the imperial capital of India by the British. Highlights include the majestic India Gate, Rajpath and bustling Connaught Place. A visit is also made to Qutab Minor, a massive tower built in the 11th century followed by a visit to a carpet emporium.
Sadly your epic journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
