This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque. This afternoon why not further enhance your exploration of this busting city with an afternoon guided journey through the New Delhi area the highlights will include India gate a drive past parliamentary buildings and President's house, a guided visit to Humayun's tomb then concluding with sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage Site Qutub minar. An early morning start straight after breakfast we will drive 4 hours to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will have a sightseeing tour to the Agra Fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! After check in at the hotel enjoy a guided tour of and watching the romantic sunset over the Taj Mahal itself.
En route on our drive to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. As we get closer to Jaipur we stop for a tasty lunch and visit Chandra Haveli, a charming haveli (mansion house) with small courtyard, lawned gardens and rustic appeal carefully being restored to the splendour of better farming years. The evening is free for you to explore Jaipur or relax at your charming hotel.
This morning you will have to look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we'll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. This afternoon perhaps opt for a journey of discovery through the historic pink city of Jaipur or an elephant safari in the Rural estate of Dera Amer? Today you have a long (8 hrs with stops) yet fascinating drive through rural India along the way we will stop in the rural village of Shahpura. Here, you can enjoy lunch at the gorgeous heritage mansion hotel called Shahpura Bagh. Approaching Udaipur the driver will stop to show you Kumbalgarh Fort considered one the best preserved historic forts in the country. Arrive Udaipur and relax at your hotel.
This morning, enjoy an insightful tour of the imposing City Palace. This afternoon enjoy time to explore and perhaps shop for colourful Rajasthani souvenirs and Indian spices. Today you make your way to the mighty Himalayas - Flying from Udaipur to Katmandhu (Via Delhi) 07:40 UDR – 15:25 KTM - Welcome to Nepal and the start of your himalayan adventure! You'll be met and transferred to your hotel where you will receive a welcome drink and a briefing about your trip through Nepal.
Today we enjoy guided sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. Admire the view from Swayambhunath Stupa, the most ancient of the Valley’s holy shrines, also known as Monkey Temple because of the many holy monkeys residing here. Visit the large and beautiful Buddhist stupa of Bodhnath, adorned with thousands of candles made with butter. These unusual lights are said to aid meditation and are replenished by worshippers who donate butter as a way of gaining extra karmic merit. Then explore magical Durbar Square - a complex of royal palaces and temples, and the social, religious and urban focal point of the city.
This afternoon a private transfer brings you to Chitwan National Park arriving in the evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel. Chitwan is hailed as one of Asia’s finest game parks and contains many animals including elephants and rhinos, sloth bears and striped hyenas.
Today allows free time for you to choose from the various optional activities available in stunning Chitwan National Park. Take a nature walk, a jungle drive, ride on an elephant or journey in a dugout canoe and admire the scenery - if you are lucky you may even see an elusive tiger!
Today travel to spectacular Pokhara, gateway to the magnificent Annapurna Range, which consists of five mountains over 7200m including the Machhapuchare, which although falling short of 7000m, is one of the most extraordinary mountains due to its unique ‘fishtail’ peak. The local people believe it is sacred to the god Shiva and therefore is off limits to climbing. Upon arrival this afternoon, spend the rest of the day at leisure.
An early start as we drive to Sarangkot enjoying the views of the landscapes and mountains and observing local people, villages and farms. After breakfast we visit the thundering waterfall known as Devi’s falls where the Pardi River, which drains Phewa Lake, enters a grottoed channel and sinks underground in a sudden rush of foam and fury. We then visit a Tibetan refugee camp, and a local school and monastery. Afternoon, there is some free time to participate in optional activities such as paragliding, mountain biking, cycling, boating and horse riding, or if you prefer why not unwind down by the lake.
