The grand entrance into Delhi's famous Red Fort

Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours. Upon your arrival at Delhi's international airport our local representative will be waiting in the arrivals hall to greet you and transfer you to your hotel for check in. Later this evening enjoy a local cooking class, learning how to cook traditional Indian dishes and sampling your own creations.

Day 2: Delhi

This morning join the Salaam Baalak Trust for a walk around Delhi. The Salaam Baalak Trust City Walk aims to make the story of the children of the street heard. Participants go on a journey through the streets of the inner city of Paharganj and the area around New Delhi railway station, led by a child who was once living and working on the streets and has now been fully trained as a local guide. It's a unique way of providing an insight into the lives of these children and an opportunity for them to improve their communication and speaking skills. Later today we explore both Old and New Delhi taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 3: Delhi

Enjoy the day at leisure to independently explore Delhi.

Day 4: Delhi - Varanasi

This morning we transfer you to the airport for your flight to the holy city of Varanasi (9W 2423 1010/1130 hrs). Upon your arrival at the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in. Later this afternoon enjoy a guided city tour.

Day 5: Varanasi

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of Sarnath. This evening enjoy a visit to a local Aarti ceremony.

Day 6: Varanasi - Agra

Enjoy a day at leisure in Varanasi (please note hotel check out is at 12 noon). Later this evening we will transfer you to the railway station for your overnight sleeper train to Agra (Magadh Express - 2230 / 0700).

Day 7: Agra

Arriving into Agra early this morning you will be met and transferred to your hotel for breakfast. This afternoon enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the Agra Fort and the iconic Taj Mahal for sunset.

Day 8: Agra

Day at leisure. Please note that the Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays.

Day 9: Agra - Ranthambhore NP

Today we rise early to see the Taj Mahal in the ethereal morning light - quite a contrast to sunset on our previous visit. Later we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortified city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area. After our stop here we continue to Ranthambhore National Park.

Day 10: Ranthambhore NP

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. The forests around the Ranthambore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur.

Day 11: Ranthambhore NP

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park again today. During the day we'll also visit Dastkar, an NGO working for women's empowerment in India.

Day 12: Ranthambhore NP - Deogarh

Departing Ranthambhore this morning we transfer by road to Deogarh. As soon as you glimpse the Deogarh Mahal, you can see that its rulers must have been serious players in the Mewar aristocracy, their magnificent fort a fitting stronghold for one of its sixteen “umraos” – the most senior feudal barons attending on the Maharana of Udaipur. Hotel check in upon arrival with remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 13: Deogarh

Day at leisure to enjoy the heritage hotel and surrounding area at your own pace.

Day 14: Deogarh - Udaipur

Departing Deogarh this morning we continue by road to the romantic Rajasthani city of Udaipur. Hotel check in with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 15: Udaipur

This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride a boat on Lake Pichola itself.

Day at leisure.

Today marks the end of your adventure with On the Go Tours. We will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Delhi (9W 2628 - 0810 /0915). End of services.
