Day 1: Old Delhi

Welcome to Delhi. We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax and recover from your long flight.

Day 2: Old Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a stark contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City, both are equally appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation bazaars of Chandni Chowk and more. We visit the Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb and Lutyens building and more during our tour of New Delhi.

Day 3: Old Delhi - Varanasi

We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Varanasi (flight SG 118 departing at 11:30 and arriving at 12:45). On arrival in Varanasi we will transfer you to the hotel. This evening we will take you to see the evening Aarti Ceremony at the Ganges.

Day 4: Varanasi - Agra

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city. Tonight you will board the over night train to Tundla departing at 23:30 and arriving in the morning at 06:40.

Day 5: Agra

We will pick you up from the station and drive you to Agra and check you into the hotel. We then take you on a city city and at sunset we visit the Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love.

Day 6: Agra - Jaipur

This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area continiuing on you will arrive in to Jaipur 'The Pink City'. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to relax.

Day 7: Jaipur

This morning early there will be a balloon flight just for Peter McLean. This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Rest of the evening is free and at your leisure.

Day 8: Jaipur - Jodhpur

An interesting 6 Hr drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. We will check you into the hotel.

Day 9: Jodhpur - Luni

A full day sightseeing tour of the city today, taking in the old city, which is surrounded by a 10km-long wall. In the old city are a tangle of streets and alleyways, bazaars and human traffic. Standing at the edge of the Thar Desert, the city is dominated by its massive fort, which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town. Meherangarh Fort, still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur is an impressive sight. Later we will transfer you through to Luni and we will visit Bishnoi Village, to experience the Bishnoi culture.

Day 10: Luni - Deogarh

Today we will drive to Deogarh and check you into the hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to explore the surroundings.

Day 11: Deogarh - Udaipur

Today we drive to the romantic city of Udaipur. Misty ochre shadowed hills and pale intricate buildings encircle the mirror glass of Lake Pichola and the mythical Lake Palace sitting at its centre. Udaipur is also a centre for performing arts, painting and crafts. En route to Udaipur we stop to visit the Jain Temples at Ranakpur.

Day 12: Udaipur

This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in an shared boat on Lake Pichola itself.

Day 13: Udaipur - Old Delhi

We will transfer you to the airport in time for the flight to Delhi (Jet Airways flight 9W 2651 departing at 08:05 and departing at 09:45). On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14: Old Delhi - Shimla

Today we will transfer you to the railway station for your train to Kalka for Shimla. The Shatabdi Express departs at 07:40 and arrives at 11:30 - Air conditioned Chair Car. Arrive Kalka and board the next train on your own. The Himalyan Queen departs at 1230 and arrives at 1725 - Non Air Conditioned Chair Car. Arrive Shimla and we will be there to meet you and transfer you to your hotel.


Day 15: Shimla

Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks. The afternoon is yours for relaxing.

Day 16: Shimla

Today is yours to explore the hill station of Shimla. Walk through 'The Mall' which is lined with stately English homes and the fortress like Viceregal Lodge.

Day 17: Shimla - Old Delhi

We will drive you to Kalka station for the train to Delhi (Shatabdi Express departing at 17:30 and arriving at 21:40, air conditioned chair class). On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel.

Day 18: Old Delhi

We will transfer you to the hotel in time for your departure flight.
