Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today, we drive to Jaipur. Affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan. We enjoy a tour of the City Palace and Jantar Mantar - an old yet cleverly designed space observatory.
Early today, we travel beyond Jaipur to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort - a sprawling Rajput concoction which hugs the hill on which it was built and overlooks the hot plains below. We enjoy a stately elephant ride (Subject to Government regulations & availability) to the fort proper and tour the fort’s well-preserved interior and grounds. Back in Jaipur, enjoy the remains of the day your way.
This morning we will drive to to Jaisalmer, on the edge of the Thar desert. We will check you into the hotel and the rest of the day is free.
Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city including the sandstone fort which is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Later this afternoon we will take you on an exciting camel safari on the Sam sand dunes. The evening is free and at your leisure to enjoy the city on your own.
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in an private boat on Lake Pichola itself.
After a relaxing breakfast we will head off to Agra home to of India's most famous monuments - the Taj Mahal. En route we will also pay a visit to the ghostly former Moghul city of Fatehpur Sikri - the fortified ghost city abandoned soon after its construction because of water shortages in the area. Arriving in Agra you will check into your hotel, and this evening we take our first visit to India's most iconic monument, the Taj Mahal.
Morning free time to see sun rise at the Taj. Later a guided visit to the Agra fort, built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. It contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque, with Itmad-ud-Daulah’s tomb a marble forerunner to the Taj. This evening you travel by sleeper train to Varanasi Depart at 20:22.
Welcome to Varanasi! Arriving at 06:15 am we will transfer you to your hotel where you can wait for the room to be ready and perhaps have breakfast at then hotel. Check in. Enjoy an afternoon city tour taking some of the key highlights and witness the evening ceremony of worship to the River Ganges.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place. Then a visit to the famous Buddhist holy sight of Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men preaching the middleway to final 'NIRVANA’. Later you fly to Darjeeling. On arrival in Darjeeling we will check you into the hotel.
Enjoy a drive to Tiger Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga - the world’s third highest mountain. Continuing, enjoy a visit to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery) followed by city sightseeing and a visit to a tea estate.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Pondicherry. On arrival in Pondicherry we will transfer you to the hotel and get you checked in.
Today we enjoy a sightseeing tour of this charming coastal town. Reminders of its colonial days include its Hotel de Ville (town Hall) and local police in red caps along with, of course, its French architecture.
Morning with our local guide you will visit a Tea Garden & Tea factory thus seeing how the process works from growing to picking to processing. Afternoon at your leisure to explore, wander and enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings.
We will transfer you to Kochi for the flight to Goa. On arrival in Goa we will transfer you to the hotel.
Sit back and relax here in this laid back coastal area of India, walk along palm fringed beaches looking for shells and watching the fishermen at work, or simply kick back and enjoy some fresh fruit cocktails served on a silver platter.
