Day 2: Delhi
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi this morning, driving past the Red Fort (closed Monday), Jama Masjid mosque and rickshaw ride in the bylanes of the old city. Later visit New Delhi including India gate, a drive past the parliamentary buildings and President's house, a guided visit to Humayun's tomb and UNESCO World Heritage Site Qutub Minar.
Day 3: Delhi
Today is a free day or perhaps enhance your holiday and pre-book the New Delhi optional tour.
Day 4: Delhi - Agra
Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Here, we visit the impressive Agra Fort, which boasts some of India's finest Mughal buildings behind it's fortified walls. Enroute we will stop at Mathura the birth place of the Hindu God Krishna and in this region many of his childhood pastimes took place the basis of which many ancient scriptures are written. This evening enjoy the Taj Mahal at sunset.
Day 5: Agra - Jaipur
This morning we visit the impressive Agra Fort, which boasts some of India's finest Mughal buildings behind it's fortified walls. En route to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water.
Day 6: Jaipur
This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride (subject to availability) transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. This afternoon is free or perhaps enhance your holiday and pre-book the Jaipur up Close optional.
Day 8: Jaipur - Shahpura
Today we will transfer you to the town of Shahpura; a lovely little village in Rajasthan. Shahpura it is set in 30 acres of garden and pasture and surrounded by lakes it is a fantastic place to spend a day.
Day 9: Shahpura - Udaipur
Continuing onto Udaipur today. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan.
Day 10: Udaipur
This morning enjoy a half day city tour including City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Shaliyo ki bari Garden and Bharti lok kala Mandal. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore independently or simply relax.
Day 11: Udaipur
Today is a free day or perhaps enhance your holiday and pre-book the Monsoon Palace optional.
Day 13: Udaipur - Kochi
This morning we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Kochi. Upon arrival at Kochi airport we will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel for the evening.
Day 14: Kochi
This morning enjoy a guided tour of Old Kochi Sightseeing including the Synagogue, Dutch Palace and St Francis Church.
Day 15: Kochi - Munnar
A drive east to to Munnar - a quaint hill station nestled on the verdant slopes of tea plantations, that exudes a rare old world charm and reminds one of the days of the Raj in its elegant splendour. At a height of 1525 metres, Munnar offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. This afternoon enjoy a visit to the Tea Plantations including the Tea Museum
Day 16: Munnar - Alleppey
Today a drive to Kumarakom. Perched sleepily on the eastern banks of the mighty Lake Vembanad in the heartland of Kerala’s famed backwaters. Upon arrival embark overnight houseboat to enjoy the backwaters of Kerala.
Day 17: Alleppey - Kovalam
Disembarking the houseboat in Alleppey we will drive approx. 4 hours to Kovalam.
Days 18-22: Kovalam
The next few days are free for you to relax or explore independently (no guide or driver). One can spend days here lolling around on the sand, retreating under the awnings of the nearby beach cafes and simply relaxing. If you are a fan of watersports, try your hand at kayaking, surfing or waterskiing. For a spot of shopping and culture visit the bazaars and historical sights of Trivandrum, a mere 20kms away. Whatever your interests there is plenty to do and see in and around Kovalam, allowing you to be as active or inactive as you desire!
Day 23: Kovalam
Sadly your last day with us, we will transfer you approx. 50 minutes to Trivandrum airport for your onward flight.
