Namaste! Welcome to New Delhi, the capital city of India and the start of your eye-opening adventure! Our friendly team will be waiting in the arrivals hall to transfer you to your hotel where you can relax for the rest of the day.
Our full day guided sightseeing tour of Delhi today covers the colorful chaos of Old Delhi and the modern simplicity of New Delhi. This vibrant city is full of forts, monuments, temples, mosques and more. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Delhi was important centre of the Mughal dynasty and the British made it the capital city in 1911. We take in Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk, the bustling bazaar, as well as the Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana – the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru. In New Delhi we visit India Gate, Rasthrapati Bhawan, Parliament House and Humayun’s Tomb.
Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra. Here we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings. We also visit a marble craft shop. Later, we enjoy a horse cart ride to the legendary Taj Mahal, where we have a guided exploration and then plenty of free time to witness the romantic sunset.
En route to Jaipur, we visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water. We enjoy lunch at a lovely local restaurant in Bharatpur. Arriving into Jaipur, relax at your hotel.
Today, you can choose to bolt on an early morning hot air balloon flight over Jaipur. Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we continue to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour. Later we explore the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Enjoy the morning at leisure exploring the city in your own time. This afternoon Head out of the city to visit the small town of Tonk, this overlooked little town is bursting at the seams with Old Havelis (mansions) Palaces and Mosques. A particular highlight is The Sunehri Kothi which is one of the best preserved Havelis in the country!
After breakfast, we have a 3-4 hour drive to Ranthambhore National Park. We check-in, freshen up and then venture out for an evening game drive.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park on a shared canter. The forests around the Ranthambhore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur. This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country's best for observing and photographing the activities of the Bengal tiger, hopefully you will have many sightings today!
After an early breakfast we depart from this wonderful park hopefully having seen some of the elusive tigers. We return to Delhi by express train.

Former ‘summer capital’ of British India, Shimla sprawls along a crescent-shaped ridge at an altitude of over 2100m. The famous main street, ‘The Mall’, lined with stately English homes and the fortress-like former Viceregal Lodge, reinforces Shimla’s quintessential English look. Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the lofty settlement, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks.
Today offers free time for you to independently explore Shimla. You can opt to stroll, drop by the colourful Lakkar Bazaar or hike to the summit of Jakhoo Hill, Shimla’s highest point. Here visitors are rewarded with panoramic views of the eternal snows set as a glorious backdrop to the sleepy township of Shimla beneath.
Hotel check out is at 12 noon, opt for some lunch and pack an evening picnic meal before driving to Kalka and boarding the Kalka Shatabdi Express at sunset and arriving into Delhi late this evening.
