Welcome to India and the start of your holiday with On the Go Tours. We'll be there at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax after your flight.
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people. Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.
This morning we transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Udaipur, a seductive city located on the banks of Lake Pichola. On arrival into Udaipur airport we'll be there to collect you and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this gorgeous city.
This morning enjoy touring the imposing City Palace, a vision in soft yellow stone on the northeast promontory with breathtaking views of the lake. The City Palace is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. We then take you to visit Jagdish Temple and Sahelion ki bari. You will have free time to explore on your own or perhaps shop for colourful Rajasthani arts and crafts. In the evening enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola.
This morning we bid farewell to Udaipur and make our way to Jodhpur, a city where the grandeur of old is still highly visible. Along the way we stop at Ranakpur, a village widely known for its marble Jain temples. On arrival in Jodhpur you will enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city, which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower.
This morning we head further into Rajasthan and journey to the frontier town of Jaisalmer, set deep in the Thar Desert. On arrival we will transfer you straight to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure or head into town for some souvenir shopping.
Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city, including the sandstone fort, an imposing sight that towers magnificently over the city. Later this afternoon we will take you on an exciting camel safari on the Sam Sand Dunes. The evening is free and at your leisure to enjoy the city on your own.
Today we continue our tour of Rajasthan and our next stop is the vibrant desert town of Bikaner. Much of the atmospheric old town, which we will explore, is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives. We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 & 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh.
This morning we head to the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, a semi-arid dreamscape of fields, half-forgotten villages and hidden havelis. We arrive at Mandawa and after hotel check in and some time to freshen up, we enjoy an afternoon tour taking in the fort palace, the havelis and the bazaar.
This morning we begin the long journey to Ranthambhore National Park, one of India's most scenic parks with a rich diversity of wildlife. On arrival and after check in, enjoy dinner at your lodge with the noises of the wild animals providing your soundtrack.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the national park. Ranthambore National Park is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. The forests around the Ranthambore Fort were once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur.
Today is an early start as we transfer you to the railway station for your early morning train to Delhi, the vibrant melting pot capital of India. On arrival into Delhi train station we'll be there to transfer you to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the day at leisure or explore this tenacious city independently.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi. The order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City but both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today is another early start as we transfer to the railway station for your early morning train journey to Shimla. The train arrives into Kalka Shatabdi at midday and you will independently transfer to the train that continues to Shimla. On arrival into Shimla we'll collect you from the train station and transfer you to your hotel. Dinner will be enjoyed leisurely at your hotel.
Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks. The afternoon is yours for relaxing or further exploring Shimla independently. In the evening dinner will be served at your hotel.
After a leisurely breakfast we transfer you to the railway station in Kalka for your train journey back to Delhi. We'll be there to collect you from the railway station in Delhi and transfer you to the airport for your onward departure journey. Today marks the end of touring arrangements with On the Go Tours.
