Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi, included transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Delhi - Pench NP

Early this morning we take a flight to Nagpur and onward transfer to Pench National Park. Spread over 275km the park hosts a population of tiger. The terrain is undulating, with most of the area covered by small hills and well-stocked teak mixed forest. This afternoon you will enjoy game drives in shared jeeps or Canters.

Day 3: Pench NP

Tigers, though for the greater part elusive, tend to inhabit the prey-rich belt by the Pench River, which meanders through the undulating terrain. Leopards, sambar, nilgai, chital also operate in the peripheral areas. Jungle cats, Indian and palm civets can also be spotted. We have morning and afternoon Game drives in shared jeeps or Canters.


Day 4: Pench NP - Kanha NP

This morning enjoy the last of your game drives at Pench. Afternoon transfer to Kanha National Park and check in at the beautiful Khana Earth Lodge. Take in the beautiful surroundings as you relax on the balcony.

Day 5: Kanha NP

Located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Kanha National Park is widely considered the greatest of India’s wildlife reserves, encompassing some 940-sq km of deciduous forest, savannah grassland, hills and an extensive network of rivers and streams. The park has been part of the Indira Gandhi’s Project Tiger, since the 1950’s, and it is home to an estimated 200 tigers.


Day 6: Kanha NP

Also present in the natural habitat is a variety of wildlife including leopard, chital, sambar, swamp deer, Indian bison, striped hyena, panther, antelope, Barasingha or swamp deer (plucked from near extinction in the 1960s) and of course, tiger. Safaris are undertaken in shared jeep/canters, with closer views of tiger sightings on elephant back.

Day 7: Kanha NP - Delhi

This morning, enjoy a further game drive, before the drive to Jabalpur to board the overnight train to Agra. Settle in to your first class carriage complete with air conditioning to allow a peaceful sleep.

Day 8: Delhi

Early arrival at the station in Agra. Here you will be taken to your hotel where you will have access to a room in order to wash, refresh and have breakfast. After breakfast we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. This afternoon we take the drive back to Delhi.

Day 9: Delhi

Our full day guided sightseeing tour of Delhi today covers the colourful chaos of Old Delhi and the modern simplicity of New Delhi. This vibrant city is full of forts, monuments, temples, mosques and more. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Delhi was important centre of the Mughal dynasty and the British made it the capital city in 1911. We take in Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk, the bustling bazaar, as well as the Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana – the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawahar Lal Nehru. In New Delhi we visit India Gate, Rasthrapati Bhawan, Parliament House and Humayun’s Tomb.

Day 10: Delhi

We will transfer you to the airport in time for your departure transfer.
