Today you will enjoy a full day sightseeing tour which includes a visit to the Victoria Memorial. Opened by the Prince of Wales in 1921, this imposing vision in marble often called the “Taj” of the British Raj overlooks the grassy Maidan, the city’s green belt.
Today you will be transferred to the aiport for your flight to Bagdogra, where you will then be transferred to your hotel in Darjeeling.
Enjoy a drive to Tiger Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga - the world’s third highest mountain. Continuing, enjoy a visit to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery) followed by city sightseeing and a visit to a tea estate.
This morning is free. This afternoon you will be transferred to New Jalpaiguri Train station for your overnight train to Mughal Sarai (Near Varanasi).
On arrival into the train station we will be there to meet you and will transfer you to your hotel in Varanasi. The rest of the day is at leisure. Varanasi - a city abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets.
In the early morning of we will enjoy a boat ride on the holy Ganges River. Later in the day we embark on a tour of India’s spiritual city. This evening consider at sunset re-visiting the ghats for the evening pilgrimage, a little different from the dawn ritual.
Today we make our way to Agra, and you will be transferred your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
After breakfast we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. Remainder of the day is at your leisure.
This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area continiuing on you will arrive in to Jaipur 'The Pink City'. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to relax.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Rest of the evening is free and at your leisure.
An interesting 6 Hr drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo.
Today you will enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. This afternoon is at your leisure to relax or for further exploration of the city.
Enroute to Udaipur, you will visit the 14th century Jain temples at Ranakpur (visit without a guide). An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.
This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in a boat on Lake Pichola itself.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival into Delhi we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today, we bid you farewell and will transfer you to the airport for your departing flight.
