Welcome to India! After your have cleared customs and passport control we will transfer your directly to the hotel.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Varanasi. You will be met upon arrival in Varanasi and taken to your hotel to check-in. This evening, enjoy a rickshaw ride to the Ganges to see the Aarti ceremony.
An early morning boat ride on the Ganges to see local life up close. This afternoon, you will have a city tour before an evening transfer to the train station to take the overnight train to Agra. You will be in 1st class air conditioned sleeper cabins.
You will be collected from the train station and taken to your hotel in Agra. This afternoon, enjoy a visit to the magnificent Taj Mahal and lofty Agra Fort.
Enroute to the train station, a stop is made at Fatehpur Sikri, with time to explore this abandoned city. Afternoon train to Sawai Madhopur (air conditioned chair class). You will be transferred to Ranthambhore National Park, to your resort.
A morning and afternoon game drive in a shared jeep or Canter gives you the opportunity to spot some of the game that is abundant in the park.
After a morning game drive, you will be driven to Jaipur and be transferred to your hotel.
This morning you will see the Amber Fort, taking an elephant ride up to the fort. In the afternoon a city sightseeing tour will take place, seeing the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Today, you will be driven to Pushkar, with an afternoon visit to Pushkar Lake and temples (driver only, no guide).
You will drive through the Rajasthan countryside to the blue city of Jodhpur, where the houses in the old city are all painted varying shades of indigo.
A full day sightseeing tour of the city today, taking in the old city, which is surrounded by a 10km-long wall. In the old city are a tangle of streets and alleyways, bazaars and human traffic. Standing at the edge of the Thar Desert, the city is dominated by its massive fort, which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town. Meherangarh Fort, still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur is an impressive sight. Later during free time, why not explore the Clock Tower markets, where you can bargain for spices, richly coloured Rajasthani textiles and ornaments.
You will have a sightseeing city tour in the morning, with an evening boat ride on picturesque Lake Pichola.
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Amritsar. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel.
Today a visit to the Famous Golden Temple the seat of the Sikh religion, Amritsar is one of the Punjab’s principal cities. Built in 1803 and made of marble, copper and pure leaf gold, the temple is an amazing architectural feat. Also you will enjoy a visit to Wagah - the only border crossing between India and Pakistan for the sunset ‘Retreat’ ceremony, where the changing of the guards & ceremonial lowering of the flags is performed with great pomp.
Today you will have an early morning start to drive to Kalka to board the Toy Train at 11:45. You will arrive into Shimla at 17:20 and we will meet you at the train station and transfer you to the hotel.
Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks. The afternoon is yours for relaxing.
The morning is free to relax or do some last sightseeing before your afternoon drive to Kalka for the train to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to your hotel.
We will transfer you to the airport for Kathmandu. On arrival we will check you into the hotel. Resembling a medieval city of temples, shrines and living gods, Kathmandu is Nepal’s biggest and most cosmopolitan city, a meeting place of a dozen ethnic groups and once one of the most important points on the caravan routes between Tibet and India. This afternoon you will enjoy a city tour of Kathmandu, which will include Swayambhunath, Kastha Mandap and Kumari Devi.
This morning you take to skies for a scenic flight to see Mt Everest. Arriving back in Kathmandu we drive to 45 mins to Bhaktapur, here you will have time to explore this beautiful city that since time immemorial has been on the trade routes between India and China. We then head back to Kathmandu.
