Day 1: Delhi

Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.

Day 2: Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 3: Delhi - Amritsar

This morning you will be transferred for your A/C chair car train destined for Amritsar, your train departs Delhi 07:20 am and arrives 13:30 pm. Upon arrival we will transfer you to your hotel where you can relax.

Day 4: Amritsar

Today a visit to the Famous Golden Temple the seat of the Sikh religion, Amritsar is one of the Punjab’s principal cities. Built in 1803 and made of marble, copper and pure leaf gold, the temple is an amazing architectural feat. Also you will enjoy a visit to Wagah - the only border crossing between India and Pakistan for the sunset ‘Retreat’ ceremony, where the changing of the guards & ceremonial lowering of the flags is performed with great pomp.

Day 5: Amritsar - Shimla

Today we transfer you to train station. Train to Chandigarh Cdg Duronto express train 05:20 / 09:45 ( Air Conditioned Chair Car) Arrive Chandigarh and Drive to Shimla , transfer to your hotel.


Day 6: Shimla

Today we enjoy a guided sightseeing tour, venturing into the narrow streets, which fall steeply away from the ridge giving way to colourful bazaars and fine views of the surrounding valley and snow-capped peaks. The afternoon is yours for relaxing.

Day 7: Shimla - Delhi

Transfer to Shimla railway station for the Toy train to Kalka. Train number 2560-Himalayan Queen departs at 11:30 and arrives at 16:00 . Arrive Kalka and board the train to Delhi on your own. No assistance provided at Kalka station. Train number 2012-Kalka Shatabdi departs at 17:30 and arrives at 2150. Air conditioned executive chair car. Arrive Delhi and you will be met and transferred to your hotel

Day 8: Delhi - Jaisalmer

This morning we will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Jodhpur. We will pick you up from Jodhpur and drive you through to Jaisalmer. Remaining day at leisure

Day 9: Jaisalmer

This morning will be spent sightseeing in Jaisalmer and in the evening, a camel safari into the seemingly never-ending sand dunes.

Day 10: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Today, we travel to Jodhpur,the largest city in Rajasthan after Jaipur. Jodhpur is normally referred to as the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city, and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defence against mosquitoes! We will take you on sightseeing tour of the city. Highlights include the old city and the massive fort which sits atop a sheer rocky ridge right in the middle of the town.

Day 11: Jodhpur - Udaipur

Enroute to Udaipur, you will visit the 14th century Jain temples at Ranakpur. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.

Day 12: Udaipur

This morning will consist of an orientation and sightseeing tour of Udaipur - including the City Palace and museum - before having a few hours in the afternoon to explore for yourselves. This evening you will take ride in an private boat on Lake Pichola itself.

Day 13: Udaipur - Pushkar

Today we drive to Pushkar. Transfer to Hotel. In the evening enjoy a tour of Pushkar

Day 14: Pushkar - Jaipur

Today we make our way to Jaipur, around 4 hours. Free evening without vehicle - perhaps visit colourful bazaars.

Day 15: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! In the afternoon you will enjoy a tour of the city. Highlights include the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Day 16: Jaipur - Agra

After a relaxing breakfast we will head off to Agra home to of India's most famous monuments - the Taj Mahal. En route we will also pay a visit to the ghostly former Moghul city of Fatehpur Sikri - the fortified ghost city abandoned soon after its construction because of water shortages in the area. Arriving in Agra you will check into your hotel, and this evening we t visit to India's most iconic monument.

Day 17: Agra - Jhansi

Today, we travel by express train to Jhansi. Arrive Jhansi and transfer to Hotel. Later on enjoy a city tour

Day 18: Jhansi - Khajuraho

Today we drive to Khajuraho .Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples, famous for their erotic sculptures. Today enjoy half day city tour

Day 19: Khajuraho - Bandhavgarh NP

Today we drive to famous Bandhavgarh National Park. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of leopards, and various species of deer. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive

Day 20: Bandhavgarh NP

Enjoy an early morning and afternoon game drive at the Park.

Day 22: Bandhavgarh NP - Kanha NP

Today we drive to Kanha. Kanha is one of India’s largest parks, covering 1945 sq. km of forest and lightly wooded grassland. This is the land that Kipling wrote so vividly about in his literary classic ‘Jungle Book’. Kanha National Park has a tremendous variety of wildlife - including the Bengal tiger, leopard, sambar, chital, blackbuck, gaur, swamp deer and jackal. Enjoy 4 game drives over the next three days with elephant rides (subject to succesful tiger trekking)

Enjoy an early morning and afternoon game drive at the Park.


Day 24: Kanha NP - Varanasi

Morning game drive in national Park. Later transfer to Jabalpur train station 11093 - Mahanagri Express - 16:30 / 04:40 (2nd Class Air Condition Carriage).

Upon arrival, we will then drive to Varanasi and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city and Sarnath. At sunset consider re-visiting the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual.

Day 27: Varanasi - Mumbai

Today we transfer you to the airport for your internal flight to Mumbai. Arrive Mumbai and transfer to Hotel

Day 28: Mumbai

This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.

Day 29: Mumbai - Goa

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Goa. On arrival into Goa you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Days 30-31: Goa

Sit back and relax here in this laid back coastal area of India, walk along palm fringed beaches looking for shells and watching the fishermen at work, or simply kick back and enjoy some fresh fruit cocktails served on a silver platter.

Day 32: Goa - Kochi

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Kochi. On arrival into Kochi you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 33: Kochi

The touring today includes the visit to Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese for a local King in 1555 A.D. The famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. A walking tour of Fort Cochin will take you through the streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch & British colonial architecture. Enjoy evening Kathkali dances

Day 34: Kochi - Munnar

Today we drive east to to Munnar - a quaint hill station nestled on the verdant slopes of tea plantations, that exudes a rare old world charm and reminds one of the days of the Raj in its elegant splendour. At a height of 1525 metres, Munnar offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.

Day 35: Munnar

Morning with our local guide you will visit a Tea Garden & Tea factory thus seeing how the process works from growing to picking to processing what for most of us brits is the preffered hot drink. Afternoon at your leisure to explore, wander and enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings.

Day 36: Munnar - Periyar NP

A short drive south to Periyar, South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary and home to bison, antelopes, sambar, wild boar, birds and even the odd tiger! Kumli, close to the sanctuary and where you will stay, is a pretty little town dotted with small spice and handicraft shops. There is plenty to do in and around Periyar, so we leave the choice to you.

Day 37: Periyar NP - Kumarakom

Enjoy a morning boat ride on Lake Periyar to see the wild life. Afternoon a short drive to Kumakoram. Perched sleepily on the eastern banks of the mighty Lake Vembanad in the heartland of Kerala’s famed backwaters, Kumarakom has changed little since the Middle Ages but for it’s string of exotic resorts, making it the perfect point to explore the backwaters. Although right in the thick of a tangle of lush tropical waterways, Kumarakom is technically an island on Lake Vembanad.

Day 39: Kumarakom - Alleppey

This morning board a simply furnished private rice boat for a journey through the backwaters in and around Alleppey. Crewed by a poler to push the rice boat through the water, a distance of some 20 kms will be covered, during which time the boat will glide past colourful local villages. As for dining, the on board cook will prepare meals using fresh local produce.

Day 40: Alleppey - Kovalam

Today we drive to Kovalam. For your remaining days in India with us really relax. Stroll for miles along white palm fringed sandy beaches, try sampling the local seafood and sipping cocktails on your sunlounger it is the perfect remedy to unwind.
