Day 1: Chennai
Welcome to Chennai and the start of your India holiday with us. After you have passed through customs and baggage collection we will be there to meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2: Chennai - Mahabalipuram
This morning you enjoy some sightseeing including The Government Museum, Santhome Cathedral Church and Kapaleshwara Temple. We then travel about 1.5 hours by road to Mahabalipuram.
Day 3: Mahabalipuram
This morning we visit Shore Temple, Arjuna's Penance and Five Rathas. This afternoon you have an excursion to Kanchipuram.
Day 4: Mahabalipuram - Kochi
Today we travel by road about 1.5 hours back to Chennai. Here you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Kochi (1750/1905). Upon arrival you will be collected and transferred to your hotel.
Day 5: Kochi
Today we have a morning sightseeing in Kochi including the Dutch Palace and St Francis Church as well as the Chinese fishing nets. Afternoon at leisure. This evening you enjoy a Kathaklai dance performance by local artists.
Day 6: Kochi - Alleppey
This morning a short drive from Kochi to Allepey brings you to the area where tommorow you board your house boat. It is very peaceful - simply sit back, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds in your own time.
Day 7: Alleppey - Periyar NP
Disembark from the houseboat and drive to Periyar, which is about 4 hours. South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary and home to bison, antelopes, sambar, wild boar, birds and even the odd tiger! Kumli, close to the sanctuary and where you will stay, is a pretty little town dotted with small spice and handicraft shops. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 8: Periyar NP
This morning you visit a tea and spice plantation. This afternoon you will enjoy a tranquil public boat ride, drift silently along the water's of Lake Periyar, spotting wild elephent herds and many of the varied wildlife the park has to offer.
Day 9: Periyar NP - Munnar
Today we continue by road for about 4 hours to Munnar. Upon arrival you check in to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 11: Munnar
Today you will be transferred back to Kochi, about 4.5 hours. You will then be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
