Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Enjoy sightseeing of new Delhi and old Delhi with visits to the battlemented Red Fort - built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - a marble memorial marking the spot where the great leader- Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his assassination, Humayun’s Tomb and Qutab Minar.
Departing Delhi, we journey 5hrs to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! Evening guided visit by horse cart to see the Taj Mahal and free time to take in the romantic sunset.
Driving to Jaipur en route a stop is made at the fantastically well preserved former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified city was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned dramatically due to a lack of water. Free time to explore with your driver. Onward transfer to Jaipur arrival and check into your hotel.
This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour and plenty of time to explore. Later we go to Dera Amer on the outside of the city for an Elephant Safari in the country visiting villages and seeing wildlife dinner at Dera Amer return to your hotel.
We enjoy a tour of the City Palace (Hawa Mahal), Galta Temple and Jantar Mantar - an old, yet cleverly designed space observatory, Johari Bazaar and more. Optionally we can arrange at little cost an evening visit to Raj mandir Cinema to see Hindi Movie.
Today, we drive to the semi-desert Shekhawati region. The small towns in this region became important trading posts, a lasting legacy of which are the beautiful painted havelis (mansions) constructed by wealthy merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. Enjoy an afternoon village walk.
