Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi, included transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Delhi

Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of old and new Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort (closed Mondays), Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 3: Delhi

Morning half day sightseeing including visit to Lakshmi Narayan Temple and Lotus Temple. This afternoon is free for you to explore the Connaught Place market on your own.

Day 4: Delhi - Udaipur

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Upaipur, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples. Enjoy a half day touring of the imposing City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Shaliyo ki bari Garden and Bharti lok kala Mandal.

Day 5: Udaipur

Morning proceed for half day visit to the Crystal Gallery at Fateh Prakash Palace. Afternoon free time to explore and perhaps shop for colourful Rajasthani souvenirs and Indian spices. Enjoy a boat ride at sunset cruise on Lake Pichola (shared boat).

Day 6: Udaipur - Jodhpur

An interesting drive (roughly 6 hrs) through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert. Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City. This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. En route we visit to Ranakpur temples (Aadhinath Temple, Parwasnath Temple and Sun Temple). This evening is free to visit the old old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower.

Day 7: Jodhpur - Manvar

We’ll enjoy morning touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, Cenotaphs and Museum at Umaid Bhawan Palace. Afterwoods we drive to Manvar (roughly 3 hrs) to enjoy a desert camp experience.

Day 8: Manvar - Jaisalmer

This morning, enjoy a Camel ride in the sand dunes. After lunch (pool side) we drive (roughly 3 hrs) to the medieval caravan outpost of Jaisalmer, one of the jewels in India’s crown. Exquisite wood and sandstone buildings dot the town and within Jaisalmer Fort are homes, hotels and shops hidden in ancient lane ways.

Day 9: Jaisalmer

During our stay in this stunning Rajasthani fortress town we’ll enjoy some touring including Jaisalmer Fort, Jain Temples and the Havelis (mansions) and Gadi Sagar Lake. This evening enjoy a desert camel safari on the rolling sand dunes at sunset.

Day 10: Jaisalmer - Bikaner

Today, we drive to Bikaner (roughly 7 hrs) to enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city including Junagarh Fort and the Camel Breeding Farm.

Day 11: Bikaner - Pushkar

En route to Pushkar (roughly 6.5 hrs) we stop to visit Karni Mata Temple at Deshnoke.

Day 12: Pushkar - Jaipur

We enjoy a half day visit of Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple before a 3 hours drive takes you to the pink city of Jaipur.

Day 13: Jaipur

This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride (subject to elephant availability and government regulations) transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Day 14: Jaipur - Ranthambhore NP

After breakfast, we have 4 hr drive to Ranthambhore National Park. We check-in, freshen up and then venture out for an evening game drive (shared canter). Ranthambhore NP is one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan.


Day 15: Ranthambhore NP

We enjoy both morning and evening game drives (shared canter) with some time to relax during the day.

Day 16: Ranthambhore NP - Agra

We transfer to the railway station for your roughly 2.5 hour seater train to Bharatpur. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Agra via the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. Later today, we visit the legendary Taj Mahal for sunset. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers.

Day 17: Agra

This morning, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings and Baby Taj as well as Itmad-Ud-Daulah. Remainder of the day will be free to explore the Agra Market on your own.

Day 18: Agra - Khajuraho

We transfer to the railway station for your roughly 2.5 hour seater train to Jhansi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to Khajuraho - home of the resplendent Hindu temples which were built during the Chandela dynasty over a 100 year burst of creative genius from 950-1050 AD. En route we visit Orchha. Situated on the banks of the River Betwa, Orchha is set amongst a wonderful complex of well-preserved 16th century temples and palaces.

Day 19: Khajuraho - Varanasi

This morning, enjoy a half day visit to Western and Eastern Group of Temples before transferring you to the airport for your flight to Varanasi, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Visit The Ganges in the evening with guide to witness the evening Arti ceremony.

Day 20: Varanasi

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city and visit to Sarnath.

Day 21: Varanasi - Kathmandu

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Kathmandu, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon, we’ll explore Durbar square in the heart of Kathmandu, which is home to more than 50 stunning temples and shrines.

Day 22: Kathmandu

Our sightseeing will include an overview of the city taking in Pashupatinath Temple which stands on the banks of the River Bhaginiti, Swayambhunath Pagoda and colossal Bodhnath. This afternoon we visit Dhulikhel.

Morning visit to Patan city and Dakshinkali Temple.

Day 24: Kathmandu

Departure transfer to the airport.
