Welcome to India and the start of your long awaited honeymoon. Once you arrive Chennai you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the domestic terminal in time for your flight to Kochi. Upon arrival into Kochi you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy at leisure. Overnight - Kochi
Kochi - Munnar. A drive east to to Munnar - a quaint hill station nestled on the verdant slopes of tea plantations, that exudes a rare old world charm and reminds one of the days of the Raj in its elegant splendour. At a height of 1525 metres, Munnar offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight - Munnar
Munnar - Periyar. A short drive south to Periyar, South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary and home to bison, antelopes, sambar, wild boar, birds and even the odd tiger! Kumli, close to the sanctuary and where you’ll stay, is a pretty little town dotted with small spice and handicraft shops. There is plenty to do in and around Periyar, so we leave the choice to you. This morning enjoy an early morning boat ride on Lake Periyar to spot herds of wild elephants. Later today take an elephant ride through the local spice plantations. This afternoon is free for your explore as you will with a car at your disposal. This evening you can watch the running slide shows on flora and fauna of the Periyar at the Tiger Club inside the resort. Overnight Periyar.
Leaving Periyar you will travel by road to Kumarakom. Here, you hop on to a boat to Coconut Lagoon, an eco-friendly resort created from restored heritage homes, set in a web of canals on the banks of the Kavanar river. This evening finds you on a sun-set cruise on the lake, in a converted rice boat adrift to a flute accompaniment. After cruise it is learning time. Learn to cook some authentic Keralan dishes in the cooking demonstration class organized by the Chef. The resort gives an opportunity to see some traditional Art Forms of Kerala. Overnight Kumarakom.
Today enjoy it at your leisure (no car at disposal) Alternatively why not be woken up by the sound of birds from the nearby bird sanctuary. After breakfast, why not go bird watching accompanied by a Naturalist who will identify the birds which wakes you up in the morning. Before lunch there is enough time to visit the Village nearby. This evening engage in yet another session of Cooking demonstration and Cultural show. Overnight Kumarakom
Enjoy one last Yoga session this morning before you are transferred to your house boat at Kumarakom and spend the day sailing along the back waters. Overnight on your houseboat.
Disembark from Houseboat and drive to Marari Beach. Arrive Marari and check in at your hotel. Marari Beach resort is not just the sand and the sea. It’s the living environment that surrounds it. The Marari Beach, let us be clear, is not the place for a raucous Beach holiday. There are no real parties here. No noisy water scooter but for those seeking to undue the stress of the city life and experience a completely new place, it is the perfect spot. Enjoy the next couple of days at your leisure on your own to explore the area and it’s fishing villages nearby on a bicycle or take a dip in the sea. The beach usually being nearly empty except for a few other guests and the odd local fishermen. Overnight Marari.
