Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Departing Delhi, we journey 5hrs to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! We will also visit baby Taj.
Today we rise early to see the Taj Mahal in its ethereal morning light. This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area continiuing on you will arrive in to Jaipur 'The Pink City'. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to relax.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride (subject to availability) transports us to the lofty fort, where you will enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon you tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Today we drive to Mandawa. Mandawa lies in the heart of Shekhawati a painted arched gateway adorned with Lord Krishna and his cows leeds to the bazzar. You can wander through the streets where mansions of rich merchants are adorned with elaborate frescoes.
Today we drive to Bikaner, it is an atmospheric old town, which is still encircled by massive fortified walls. This afternoon we will enjoy sightseeing of the city. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives. We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 & 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh.
Today we will drive to Jaisalmer. Unique in India, this captivating sandy outpost is known as the Golden City owing to the honey colour imparted to its stone ramparts by the setting sun.
Today enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of the city including the sandstone fort which is an imposing sight, towering magnificently over the city. Later this afternoon we will take you on an exciting camel safari on the Sam sand dunes. The evening is free and at your leisure to enjoy the city on your own.
Today, we travel to Jodhpur, the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city, and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defence against mosquitoes! We’ll enjoy some touring of Jodhpur’s highlights.
Today we drive to Mt Abu. Mt Abu is an easy paced town and a very popular retreat in the summer, with people trying to escape the heat of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
A full days sightseeing today of the city. Mt Abu has several Jain temples including the beautiful Dilwara group, which were built between 11th and 13th Centuries AD and are carved out of white marble, with some of the best marble carvings in Rajasthan. More fine-looking temples can be found within the Achalgarh fort.
You have this morning free before we leave for the romantic city of Udaipur - the very essence of what it is to be in Rajasthan. Enroute we wil visit the Jain Temples at Ranakpur without a guide.
A sightseeing tour of the city this morning, including the City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Sahelion-ki-bari. You have this afternoon free. In the evening, you will have an exclusive boat ride on Lake Pichola.
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Mumbai. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. You have this afternoon at your leisure.
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India and Marine drive.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight south. Welcome to the palm-fringed shores of Goa. A one time Portuguese colony, Goa is truly a trpical paradise. Leave the world behind as you watch the sun set over the Arabian sea, sample fresh food and seafood, swim in Goa's warm waters or simply soak up the sun!
