This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva. Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India, Crawford Market, Mani Bhavan and Marine drive. Overnight at Vivanta by Taj President Superior Charm room
Today we transfer to the airport for our flight to Ahmedabad (08:50/09:50) On arrival we are met and transferred to our hotel. Remainder of today at leisure. Overnight at House of MG Grand Deluxe room
After breakfast we head out for a full days sightseeing of Ahmedabad, including Jamma Masjid, Swami Narayan, Hatheesingh Temple, Shreyas Museum, Ghandhi Ashram and Adalaj well. Overnight at House of MG Grand Deluxe room
Today we drive to Mount Abu (approx 5 hours). On arrival hotel check in, remainder of today at leisure.
Today we explore the beautiful marble Delwara Temples.
Driving onto Jodhpur, known as the Blue City - This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo (approx 6 hours). On arrival hotel check in before we venture out for our afternoon sightseeing of the Ranakpur temples - Aadhinath temple, Parwasnath temple and the Sun temple.
Todays tour includes Mehrangarh Fort and Cenotaphs. This afternoon we enjoy a half day horsseriding in Rohetgarh.
Hotel check out, we drive onto Jaisalmer (approx 6 hours). Upon arrival hotel check in, remainder of today at leisure.
Free morning at leisure. This afternoon we enjoy sightseeing of Jaisalmer - Gadisar Lake, Jaisalmer Fort, Jain temples and the Havelis (mansions). Later we have an enchanting camel safari on the Sand dunes.
Moving on we drive to Bikaner (approx 7 hours). Upon arrival check into hotel, remainder of today at leisure. Once an important staging post on the great caravan routes, much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls.
Morning at leisure. This afternoon we explore the city - highlights include Junagarh Fort and Camel Breeding Farm (Camel Breeding is open from 3pm to 6pm).
Hotel check out. Leaving Bikaner, we drive onto Surajgarh (approx 5 hours). Free time. This evening we suggest you explore the two havelies, temple and walk through the village (not guided).
Moving on we drive to Jaipur (approx 5 hours). Upon arrival check into hotel, remainder of today at leisure.
Today we visit the Sanganer Town to see the handmade paper factories and Tye Dye Works. Remainder of today at leisure with vehicle.
Hotel check out. Leaving Jaipur, we drive onto Delhi (approx 5 hours). Upon arrival check into hotel, remainder of today at leisure.
Transfer to the train station for our train to Shimla - via Kalka. Departs at 07:40 - arrive Kalka at 11:45 hours and connect to another train to Shimla. Departs at 12:10 hours and arrives in Shimla at 17:20 hours. Upon arrival we will meet you and transfer you through to your hotel.
This morning we have a guided tour of Shilma, including Jaku Temple, Museum and Church. this afternoon at leisure to explore on your own.
Hotel check out. Today we drive to Chandigarth (approx 5 hours). Hotel check in on arrival. This afternoon we enjoy a city tour.
Hotel check out. Today we drive to Phillaur (approx 3 1/2 hours drive). Transfer to your own hotel arrangements.
Today we drive from Phillaur to Amritsar (approx 3 hours). Hotel check in. We enjoy a visit to the Golden Temple and Jhaliawala Bagh. Later this evening we visit Wagah - the only border crossing between India and Pakistan for the sunset ‘Retreat’ ceremony, where the changing of the guards and ceremonial lowering of the flags is performed with great pomp.
This morning we transfer to the train station for our train back to Delhi (08:10/16:05). Upon arrival into Delhi you are met and transferred to our Delhi hotel.
Day at leisure. Day use of room - 1 room for the whole family - checkout at 6pm. Later today we bid you farewell with a departure airport transfer in time to meet your onward flight.
