Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Departing Delhi, we journey by express train 3 hours to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! This evening a guided tour of the Taj Mahal.
This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortified city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area continuing on you will arrive in to Jaipur 'The Pink City'. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to relax.
Look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we travel to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Afternoon at leisure.
Morning or afternoon enjoy a guided tour of the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Today as it is not feasible to drive to Mt Abu in one day we will drive to a lovely half way point called Shahpura Bagh. Arrival check in and enjoy the hospitality of the Royal Family of Shahpura.
Today a transfer to the airport in Udaipur for the direct flight to Mumbai. Arrival transfer to your hotel.
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. Remainder of the day at leisure.
