Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
This morning we drive to Jaipur, affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style on top of an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Rest of the evening is free and at your leisure.
En route to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water.
After breakfast we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. We will take you to the train station for the overnight sleeper train to Varanasi.
We will pick you up from the train station and transfer you to the hotel. This eveing we will take you to Evening Aarti at the Ganges.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city and temples - New Vishwananth and Durga.
Free day before our evening transfer to the train station for the overnight train to Darjeeling (dep23:00).
You will arrive into Darjeeling at 10:45. We will pick you up from the train station and transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.
We enjoy a a visit to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery) followed by city sightseeing and a visit to a tea estate and a half day city tour.
Free day until we transfer you the train station, for the overnight sleeper train to Kolkata, departing at 20:00.
We will pick you up from the train station at 06:00 when your train arrives and transfer you to the hotel and get you checked in. Rest of the day is free.
Today you will enjoy a full day sightseeing tour which includes a visit to the Indian Museum, Jain Temple and Victoria Memorial. Opened by the Prince of Wales in 1921, this imposing vision in marble often called the “Taj” of the British Raj overlooks the grassy Maidan, the city’s green belt.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Chennai. Upon arrival in Chennai we will transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day is free.
Enjoy sightseeing of Mahabalipuram (Includes Shore Temple, Fiveratha Temple, Arjuna's Penance, Butter Ball, Shivan Temple, Krishna Mandapam & Kanchipuram (Includes Ekabaneshwar Temple and Kailashanath Te. Half day city tour (Incl. Govt. Museum, Santhome Cathedral Church, Kapaleshwara Temple and Marina Beach).
Today, we visit Kanchipuram, one of sacred cities in India, including Ekambareshwar Temple, Kailashanath Temple, Kamakshi Temple and Brihadisvara Temple. We then will transfer you this evening to the train station for the overnight train to Mettupalayam, enroute for Mudumalai.
We will pick you up from the train station and drive you through to Mudumalai National park (approximately 4 hours). Once inside the park we will take you to the Elephant Camp enroute to your lodge.
In the morning you can do a mountain trek. In the evening can opt for Bandipur and do a game drive or can go to water hole where you can sit under the tree near the lake side and wait for the animals to come. Evening Dinner with Bonfire
Today we will will transfer you to Coimbatore airport for the flight to Chennai and connecting flight to Kochi. On arrival in Kochi we will transfer you to the hotel.
This commercial city, also called “The Queen of the Arabian Sea” is famous for its exquisite designer Gold Jewelry. The Indian Navy, the Port and the Airport share the largely man-made Willingdon Island. The touring today includes the visit to Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese for a local King in 1555 A.D. The famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. A walking tour of Fort Cochin will take you through the streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch & British colonial architecture, including a few old trading factories, the only ones still standing anywhere in the world. We will take you on a sunset cruise to see the Chinese fishing nets.
Today it is time to transfer to Alleppey and board the houseboat. Sit back enjoy the cozy comfort of a moving boat watch the country side, ancient Champakulam church and taste local Kuttanadan dishes.
We will meet you as you disembark from the houseboat and transfer you to the airport for the flight to Goa (connecting through Mumbai). On arrival in Goa we will transfer you to the hotel.
