After a relaxing breakfast our driver will collect you for the journey to Sikandra which is the last resting place of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Here you get to explore his vast mausoleum which is beautifully carved out of red ochre sandstone tomb amidst a lush gardens. Later on we take a rickshaw to the legendary Taj Mahal and witness a magical sunset. Built by Shah Jahan in the 16th century as an enduring memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers.
This morning your expert guide will take you to explore the Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! We then head out of town to visit the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. Returning to Agra, the afternoon is at your leisure to explore the city in your own time and at your own pace.
