Day 1: Delhi

Namaste! Welcome to New Delhi, the capital city of India and the start of your eye-opening adventure! Our friendly team will be waiting in the arrivals hall to transfer you to your hotel where you can relax for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Delhi - Amritsar

Early morning transfer to the railway station to board the Shatabdi Express train to Amritsar (air-conditioned chair car). You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your hotel. Afternoon is at leisure.

Day 3: Amritsar

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of the historic Amritsar, including the Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh. This afternoon travel approximately 28km to Wagah, which is the only border crossing between India and Pakistan. Visiting Wagah is an interesting experience especially at sunset when the ‘Retreat’ ceremony takes place with the BSF on the Indian Side of the Border. The changing of the guards and the ceremonial lowering of the flags ceremony is carried out with great pomp.

Day 4: Amritsar - Corbett NP

This morning we drive to the train station and assist your embarking the express train to Haridwar (air-conditioned chair car) Arriving here, our local driver will be waiting to take you onto your accommodations located in Corbett National Park

Days 5-6: Corbett NP

Corbett is India’s first national park and one of its finest. It is notable not only for its rich and varied wildlife and birdlife but also for its scenic charm and magnificent mountain and river views. For today and tomorrow, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in private jeeps.

Day 7: Corbett NP - Delhi

Today we retrace our steps back to Delhi with a 5-6 drive by comfortable private car.

Day 8: Delhi

Today, you'll explore Delhi - both Old and New with a private guide. Highlights of the tour will be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and much more. We conclude the day with wandering around Chandi Chowk Bazaar, we then can drop you at the hotel or leave you there to explore.

Day 9: Delhi - Agra

Departing Delhi, we journey 5 hrs by private car to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital. Arriving, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! We conclude our day with a guided tour of the incredible Taj Mahal and there, have free time to witness a romantic sunset.

Day 10: Agra - Jaipur

En route on our drive to Jaipur, we visit ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri. This magnificent fortified city was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 until 1585, when it was abandoned dramatically due to a lack of water to support the peoples who resided in the city. Thanks to the very durable red sandstone, from which it was built, Fatehpur Sikri remains fantastically preserved. After we head to Bharatphur from some lunch in a charming Haveli before continuing the final leg to Jaipur.

Day 11: Jaipur

This morning, we drive just beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fortress, where we will enjoy a tour. Back in Jaipur, we visit the City Palace, which has an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory before stopping at a cotton weaving house to see a demonstration of fabric dyeing and block printing.

Day 12: Jaipur - Shahpura

Driving to Udaipur in one day is simply too far in one day, so we will drive through spectacular rural India around 4 hours to Shahpura. Arriving here, you will check into your hotel which is the family home of the Shahpura Royal Family. Spend the afternoon enjoying the hospitality of your hosts and exploring the village.

Day 13: Shahpura - Udaipur

This morning we make our way to Udaipur. This drive has some incredible sites to see along the way, we will be stopping in Chittorgarh and Kumbalgarh, both home to incredible ancient fortress's by visiting the two, you have explored what is considered the most important and best preserved fortress's in the country. Arriving into Udaipur in the early evening, sit back and enjoy a G&T down by the lakes edge.

Day 14: Udaipur

This morning after a leisurely breakfast we will head down to the lake and enjoy a splendid row-boat ride. Take in the spectacular scenery of the Aravalli Hills as they are revealed with the lifting cloak of early morning mist. We then enjoy guided touring of the city palace and significant temples. Later, enjoy a thrilling tuk tuk ride through the narrow streets stopping to take in the sites. This evening we drive half an hour out of the city to the Monsoon Palace to witness the sunset and experience a magical atmosphere at twilight.

Day 15: Udaipur - Kochi

The allure of the tropical south beckons! This morning we are off to the airport for your flight to Kochi. Arriving here, we assist you to your hotel, where you can relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 16: Kochi - Munnar

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour of the town including the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568, the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese in 1555 and St Francis’ Church. A walking tour of Fort Cochin takes you through streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch and British colonial architecture. Around noon or so, we drive to the lovely hill station of Munnar, taking time to enjoy the cooler climate of the Western Ghat mountains.

Day 17: Munnar

Today you have our driver and car at disposal to take you to visit a Tea Plantation, nearby waterfalls and if you would like Eravikulam National Park.

Day 18: Munnar - Alleppey

This morning board a simply furnished private rice-boat for a journey through the backwaters from Alleppey to Kumarakom. Crewed by a poler to push the rice boat through the water, a distance of some 20 kms will be covered, during which time the boat will glide past colourful local villages. As for dining, the on-board cook will prepare meals using fresh local produce.

Day 19: Alleppey - Kumarakom

This morning after breakfast you arrive into Kumarakom and check into your luxurious resort. Kumarakom has changed little since the Middle Ages but for it’s string of exotic resorts, making it the perfect point to explore the backwaters. Although right in the thick of a tangle of lush tropical waterways, Kumarakom is technically an island on Lake Vembanad.

Day 20: Kumarakom

Today is at your leisure to relax and enjoy your surroundings. If you wanted something to do there is a fantastic bird sanctuary, winter home to many migratory birds which is worth a visit.

Day 21: Kumarakom - Delhi

Today we transfer you to the airport for the flight back to Delhi. Arriving here, our local team await to take you to the hotel. Enjoy your last afternoon/evening in the big city.

Day 22: Delhi

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
