Day 1: Mumbai

Welcome to Mumbai and the start of your journey. We will be on hand to meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Mumbai

Mumbai or Bombay, as it was formerly known - remains India’s city of dreams. Today we embark on a glittering city tour starting with a morning visit to the cave temples of Elephanta Island, sculpted during the 5th to the 8th centuries. In the afternoon we visit the Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive and the Mani Bhawan Jain temple.

Day 3: Mumbai

Today is at your leisure to explore the city in your own time.

Day 4: Mumbai - Pune

This morning we drive to Pune which was chosen by the British in 1820 as an alternative headquarters for the Bombay Residency and today many of the British buildings survive. Today we visit the Raja Kelkar Museum which houses an eclectic collection of artworks and curios and Shaniwar Wada - a 17th century ruined fortress-like palace. Later we tour to the famous Rajneesh (Osho) ashram and Aga Khan’s Palace - the site where Gandhi and other leaders of India’s independence movement were detained for nearly two years.

Day 5: Pune

This morning your private driver will collect you and drive you to Sholapur - Here allows free time at leisure for you to explore, the driver and vehicle remain with you for use at your disposal within city limits. (OVERNIGHT AT THE Balaji Sarovar Premier Hotel)

Day 7: - Hyderabad

This morning we drive you back to Pune, this time to the airport to catch the SG3016 - 1600 / 1720 flight to Hyderabad. Arriving here, meet our local team who are on hand to assist you to your hotel.

Day 8: Hyderabad

Departing after breakfast, we make our way towards Birla Mandir Temple, set on the rocky hills of Kala Pahar. Next we head to the Hyderabad’s enchanting Old City, filled with remnants of its faded grandeur from ancient monuments and ornate tombs to beautiful mosques and splendid palaces. This afternoon is spent exploring the massive granite hilltop fortress of Golkanda, just west of Hyderabad. Though first constructed as a mud fort in the 13th century, it wasn't until several centuries later, during the Qutab Shahi Dynasty, that it was transformed into its current impressive appearance.

Day 9: Hyderabad - Chennai

This morning drive back to Hyderabad airport to catch the 6E311 - 0955 / 1100 flight to South India, and city of Chennai. Arriving here, meet our local team who are on hand to assist you to your hotel. An afternoon tour of the city includes a visit to St George Fort, built in 1653 and St Mary’s Church, the oldest British church in India. (OVERNIGHT Accord Metropolitan Hotel)

Day 10: Chennai

Enjoy a full day excursion to the seaside town of Mahabalipuram, famous for its shore temple. The city is also famous for handwoven silk. In Mahabalipuram, the huge rock-cut sculptures and mandapams (pillared pavilions) date from the 5th to 8th centuries and are sure to amaze you as you explore there fascinating nooks and crannies. Day 11: Chennai

Spend the day enjoying all that Chennai has to offer in your own time. (OVERNIGHT Accord Metropolitan Hotel)

Day 12: Chennai - Mysore

This morning we set off to the station and assist your embarkation of the 12007 - Shatabadi Express - 0600 / 1300 train to Mysore. Spend the afternoon on a guided exploration of this wonderful city including the impressive Maharaja's Palace, the official residence of the former royal family of Mysore.

Day 13: Mysore - Ooty

Today we head into the Nilagiri Hill range to take in the cooler climate conditions and gorgeous scenery. You will arrive into Ooty in the afternoon and enjoy some downtime to relax.

Day 14: Ooty

This morning enjoy a city tour of Ooty. Also known as Udhagamandalam, Ooty is the "Queen of Hill Stations" and the capital of Nilgiris district. We also visit a local Tea plantation for which this region is well known. The afternoon is at your leisure to relax or explore.

Day 15: Ooty - Kochi

Today we have a long 8 hour but very scenic drive to the Arabian Sea and the Port city of Kochi. Stops can be made along the way to stretch your legs and refresh yourself, take photos etc. (OVERNIGHT Eighth Bastion Hotel)

Day 16: Kochi

This morning enjoy a sightseeing tour including a walking tour of Fort Cochin. With the afternoon at leisure, why not go for a walk along the waterfront. This evening we will take you to watch the famous Keralan dancers perform. Arrive early so you don’t miss the artists applying their awesome make-up. (OVERNIGHT Eighth Bastion Hotel)

Day 17: Kochi - Kovalam

The allure of palm fringed beaches, warm oceans and golden sands can wait no longer. This morning our driver will collect you and transfer you to the resort town of Kovalam for some much needed R&R.

Days 18-20: Kovalam

For your remaining days in India with us really relax. Stroll for miles along palm fringed sandy beaches, try sampling the local seafood and sipping cocktails on your sun-lounger, the perfect remedy to unwind.

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
