Day 1: Chennai
Welcome to India. We will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to the hotel.
Day 2: Chennai
Today we will take you on a full day tour of Tirukkalikundram and Kanchipuram. Tirukkalikundram is a small town dominated by soaring gopurams and Kanchipuram is considered the city of temples.
Day 4: Chennai - Pondicherry
Today we will drive you to Pondicherry travelling via Mahabalipuram and transfer you to the hotel. Mahabalipuram is a world heritage site famous for the monolith temples dating back to centuries.
Day 5: Pondicherry
We take you on a half day sightseeing tour of this charming coastal town. Reminders of its colonial days include its Hotel de Ville (town Hall) and local police in red caps along with, of course, its french architecture. Rest of the day is free.
Day 6: Pondicherry - Tanjore
Today we continue south to Tanjore, stopping enroute at Chidambaram, a beautiful temple, dedicated to Lord Nataraja - God Shiva in the form of a Cosmic Dancer. This is one of the few temples where Shiva and Vishnu are enshrined under one roof.
Day 11: Chettinadu - Madurai
We will drive you to Madurai today and check you into the hotel. We will then take you on a guided tour of the city.
Day 12: Madurai
We will take you on a guided visit to Meenakshi Temple today. Meenakshi Temple is the most exquisite example of the Dravidian architecture. It is a master piece and was the center of activity for the promotion of art and culture in Madurai.
Day 13: Madurai - Munnar
Today we will drive as far as Munnar (as to drive all the way through to Alleppey is too much for one day).
Day 14: Munnar - Alleppey
Today we will transfer to Alleppey and check onto the house boat. The boat will cross shallow, palm-fringed lakes and cruise along peaceful canals where copra and cashews are loaded onto local boats. The on-board cook will prepare locally-inspired food. Relax, read and catch some sun as the boat plies it’s route.
Day 18: Kumarakom - Kochi
Today we will drive you to Kochi and check you into the hotel. This commercial city, also called “The Queen of the Arabian Sea” is famous for its exquisite designer Gold Jewelry. The Indian Navy, the Port and the Airport share the largely man-made Willingdon Island. The famous Jew Street is a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568.
Day 21: Kochi - Coonoor
We will transfer you to Coonor and check you into the hotel. Rest of the day is free.
Day 23: Coonoor - Ooty
We will transfer you to Ooty, takeing the heritage train from Mettupalayam to Ooty. Upon arrival we will check you into the hotel.
Day 26: Nagerhole NP - Mysore
After a morning game drive, we head to Mysore and visit the market and Chaimondi Hill.
Day 28: Mysore - Chikmagalur
Drive to Chikmagalur and our sightseeing includes Gometeshwara Statue and Sravanabelogola.
Day 29: Chikmagalur
Today you will have a sightseeing tour of Belur and Halebid, seeing the temples.
Day 30: Chikmagalur - Goa
We will drive you to the airport for the flight to Goa. Upon arrival in Goa, we will transfer you to the hotel.
Day 35: Goa - Mumbai
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Mumbai. Upon arrival in Mumbai we will transfer you to the hotel. Rest of the day free.
