Day 1: Delhi
Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel for a pre tour briefing and then the day is free for you to explore.
Day 2: Delhi - Jodhpur
Free day to explore Delhi. This evening we transfer you to the station for your sleeper train to Jodhpur.
Day 3: Jodhpur
Arrive into Jodhpur which is known as the Blue City, in reference to the indigo coloured buildings that dot the old city, and the locals belief that blue acts as effective defence against mosquitoes! Arrival transfer remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 4: Jodhpur
A full day sightseeing tour of the city today taking in the key highlights such as Meherangarh Fort, The City Wall, the Clock Tower & surrounding markets. Finishing up by around 3 pm a bit of time to explore.
Day 5: Jodhpur - Ranakpur
Leaving Jodhpur, we drive to Ranakpur, a small town tucked away in a remote valley and famed for its beautiful 14th century Jain temples. Free time to explore the town and temples.
Day 6: Ranakpur - Udaipur
Continuing south, we arrive at Udaipur. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan. A favourite amongst travellers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples.
Day 8: Udaipur - Jaipur
Free day to explore. Tonight we transfer you to the station for the sleeper train to Jaipur.
Day 10: Jaipur
This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Why not bolt on an early morning amazing hot air balloon ride? Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Day 11: Jaipur - Agra
After breakfast we will head off to Agra home to of India's most famous monuments - the Taj Mahal. En route we will also pay a visit to the ghostly former Moghul city of Fatehpur Sikri - the fortified ghost city abandoned soon after its construction because of water shortages in the area. Arriving in Agra you will check into your hotel, and this evening enjoy a sunset tour of the Taj.
Day 12: Agra - Varanasi
Free day for you to explore. This evening a transfer to the train station for your sleeper train to Varanasi.
Day 13: Varanasi
Welcome to Varanasi. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Later, we embark on a tour of the city to take in some key highlights. At sunset your guide will take you to visit the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual.
Day 15: Varanasi - Nagpur
Free day to explore. Evening transfer to the station for your sleeper train to Nagpur.
Day 18: Nagpur - Hyderabad
Free day to explore. Evening transfer to the station for your sleeper train to Hyderabad (departs 22:00)
Day 21: Hyderabad - Mumbai
Free day to explore. Evening transfer to the station for your sleeper train to Mumbai.
