Welcome to India and the start of your amazing family adventure with On the Go Tours. We'll be there at the airport to greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Delhi, where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing after your international flight.
An early morning start as we drive to Agra - home of India's famous attraction - the Taj Mahal. Upon arrival we will have a sightseeing tour to the Agra Fort, before watching the sun set on the legendary Taj Mahal itself.
After breakfast we depart Agra and drive to Ranthambhore National Park, one of the prime examples of Project Tiger’s conservation efforts in Rajasthan. Ranthambhore National Park is one of India’s most scenic parks and offers a rich diversity of fauna and flora including the Bengal tiger, sambar, chital, nilgai, wild boar, leopard, sloth bear and myriad birdlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive on arrival.
Enjoy an early morning and afternoon game drive in shared jeep or canter.
After breakfast we leave the wilds of Ranthambhore National Park and begin our journey to Jaipur. On arrival look out for the snake charmers that dot our route, as we continue to the 16th century Amber Fort. An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
Today we continue our tour of Rajasthan and journey to Narlai. Narlai is amongst the lesser known destinations of Rajasthan and as a result is a less touristy place to visit. Also known as Rawal Narlai, Narlai is situated at the foot of the Aravali Hills. The place is dotted with caves and temples which are the most attractive features of Narlai.
Today is a free day for you to explore the local area or take part in the many activities on offer. Later in the evening enjoy a dinner in the jungle-clad step well of Narlai, lit by candles to create a beautiful intimate atmosphere.
This morning we head to Jodhpur. Lying on the ancient trade route, the city is dominated by the massive Meherangarh Fort, topping a sheer rocky ridge. A 10 km long wall surrounds the old city with eight gates serving as entrances. Dubbed the ‘blue city’ after the distinctive colour wash of its old town houses, Jodhpur offers plenty to see and do. The rest of the day is free for you to explore independently.
Today you will enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. This afternoon we transfer to Bikaner. Once an important staging post on the great caravan trade routes, Bikaner flourished and a 7km wall with five entrances was built to protect the city.
Enjoy morning tour starting after a leisurely breakfast. Much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives. We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 & 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh. In the afternoon we transfer to our desert camp.
After spending the night under the stars we head back to Bikaner for our early morning train journey back to India's exciting capital city. Arriving late afternoon we transfer straight to your hotel where you can freshen up after your day of experiencing real India on board a train. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing or make the most of your hotel's facilities.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi. The order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City but both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today marks the end of your holiday with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we transfer you to the airport for your onward departure journey.
