Welcome to India and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours. We will be there at the airport to greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Delhi where you can spend the remainder of the day at leisure.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi. The order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City but both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Varanasi, one of the holiest places in India. On arrival into Varanasi we will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
This morning enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). The afternoon is free. Consider revisiting the ghats at sunset before we transfer you to the railway station for your overnight journey to Agra.
On arrival, transfer to your hotel where you can spend the morning freshening up and resting. Later in the afternoon we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love. Later we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj.
This morning we will drive out to the ghostly fortified city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area. Continuing on you will arrive at Jaipur, the legendary 'Pink City'. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to relax.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant. Remainder of the afternoon is free.
After a leisurely breakfast and hotel check out, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Kochi. Arriving late afternoon you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Kochi.
Touring this morning includes a visit to the Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese for a local King in 1555 A.D, and the famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. A walking tour of Fort Cochin will take you through the streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch & British colonial architecture. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure before attending a traditional Kathakali dance performance.
This morning a short drive from Kochi to Allepey brings you to where you will board your house boat. After boarding, sit back and enjoy the cozy comfort of a moving house boat as you glide through scenic countryside.
Disembarking at Allepey today we drive to palm-fringed Kovalam for your relaxing beach stay.
For your remaining days in India with us really relax. Stroll for miles along white palm fringed sandy beaches, try sampling the local seafood and sipping cocktails on your sunlounger - the perfect remedy to unwind.
