Day 1: Nimaj

Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet three of you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.

Day 2: Nimaj - Delhi

Three people this morning arrive, transfer and immediate check into your rooms to rest up. Three people morning orientation walk by somone from the Delhi office just to see the around and immediate vicinity. Later this afternoon all six of you enjoy a pre departure briefing and then we head out to enjoy a visit to the Lotus Temple. Evening return transfers to a great dinner location.

Day 3: Delhi - Jaipur

This morning we depart Delhi destined for the Pink city of Jaipur. On arrival we check in and enjoy the remainder of the day to relax or head to explore at your leisure.

Day 4: Jaipur

This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant. Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Day 5: Jaipur - Agra

After a relaxing breakfast or free morning to further explore, we will head off to Agra home to of India's most famous monuments - the Taj Mahal. En route we will pay a visit to the ghostly former Moghul city of Fatehpur Sikri which was abandoned soon after its construction because of water shortages in the area. This evening we take our first visit to India's most iconic monument the Taj Mahal.

Day 6: Agra

Today we rise early to see the Taj Mahal in its ethereal morning light - quite a contrast to sunset on our previous visit. Afternoon visit to the Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! Evening at leisure to re visit Taj if you like.

Day 7: Agra - Orchha

Today, we travel by express train to Jhansi (Bhopal Shatabdi 0817/1048 AC Chair Car) arriving there local rep will drive you onward to Orchha. Situated on the banks of the River Betwa, Orchha is set amongst a wonderful complex of well-preserved 16th century temples and palaces enjoy a guided tour and plenty of free time to explore.

Day 8: Orchha - Khajuraho

Travelling south-east, we arrive in Khajuraho - home of the resplendent Hindu temples which were built during the Chandela dynasty over a 100 year burst of creative genius from 950-1050 AD. Adding to the beauty, these amazing temples subtly change hue as the day progresses, passing from a warm pink at sunrise to white under the midday sun and back to pink at sunset. Enjoy guided tour of the site.

Day 9: Khajuraho - Varanasi

This morning enjoy a little free time to further explore these amazing temples. This afternoon 13:30 we bid farewell to Khajuraho and fly east to Varanasi. Arrival transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the afternoon free time to explore.

Day 10: Varanasi

This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of the city. At sunset enjoy visiting the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual you saw this morning.

Day 11: Varanasi - Bandhavgarh NP

Enjoy a free morning to explore. Afternoon we will take you on a guided sightseeing tour to visit the famous Buddhist holy sight of Sarnath. Sarnath is located at 10 Kms from Varanasi where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men; preaching the middleway to final 'NIRVANA’. We then proceed to the train station for the Sleeper train to Katni (Sangha Mitra Express 2330/0635 hrs)

Day 12: Bandhavgarh NP

On Arrival in Katni at 06:35 am our local team will be there to meet you and transfer you the couple of hours drive to your safari lodge. Later we enjoy an afternoon game drive in the national park.

Days 13-14: Bandhavgarh NP

Bandhavgarh is set amidst the Vindhyan ranges. Claiming to have the highest density population of Bengal tiger in India, coupled with a population of leopard, nilgai, jackal, wild boar, sloth bear, gaur, sambar deer and colourful bird life, game drives are often peppered with sightings. Today and tommorow enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive in the national park.

Day 15: Bandhavgarh NP - Delhi

After our morning game drive and some time relaxing at the lodge we depart destined for Umaria train station we then travel by overnight sleeper to train to Delhi (Gondwana Express 1720/0720 hrs)

Day 16: Delhi

Welcome back to Delhi! Arrival transfer to your hotel. Today enjoy a tour of the Impressive Red Fort and Jama Masjid by Rikshaw and then simply free time to shop till you drop! Enjoy a free afternoon to roam and explore the city until your heart is content and your wallets empty. All your friends back home expectant of gifts will lead you to many of Delhi's great souvenir shops.

Day 17: Delhi

Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights are Humuyun's Tomb, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Day 18: Delhi

We bid you farewell with a transfer to the airport in time for your flight home. (Check out 12 noon) later evening transfer to the airport.
