Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
This morning after breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Varanasi [9W 723 -1040 Hrs/1150 Hrs], where on arrival we will transfer you to your hotel to freshen up. This afternoon visit to Ramnagar Fort and this evening enjoy a rickshaw ride to see the Arti ceremony on the Ganges.
This morning, we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). Later, we embark on a tour of this spiritual city. At sunset consider re-visiting the ghats for the evening pilgramage, remarkably different from the dawn ritual.
Varanasi - a city abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets - this morning is yours to explore! This afternoon we take an excursion to Sarnath (Hotel check out time: 1200 hrs). Later we return to Varanasi and Departure transfer to board the overnight Magadh Express at 2220 hrs (1st AC) to Agra.
On arrival at 0700 we will transfer you directly to your hotel. Later this afternoon, we visit Agra fort built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565 that contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque and the Baby Taj. Nearing sunset, we head out to view the magnificent Taj Mahal. Enjoy your own time to explore and a guided tour of this once powerful Moghul emperor’s monument to love.
Today we take the drive to Jaipur (approx 4 hours). On arrival we transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style atop an elephant! Enjoy an afternoon sightseeing tour of the city. Rest of the evening is free and at your leisure.
After breakfast we take the drive to Jodhpur (apprx 6.5 hours). On arrival we will transfer you to your hotel and the rest of the afternoon and evening is at leisure.
Today you will enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. This afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy your hotels facilities or further exploration of the city.
Today we take the drive to Udaipur (approx 5 hours), en-route we visit Ranakpur Temples (without a guide), this is an incredible complex in milk white marble, covered in intricate, knottted carving. On arrival into Udaipur we transfer you directly to your hotel.
This morning enjoy touring the imposing City Palace, a vision in soft yellow stone on the northeast promontory with breathtaking views of the lake. The City Palace is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan. We then take you to visit Jagdish Temple and Sahelion ki bari. You will have free time to explore on your own or perhaps shop for colourful Rajasthani arts and crafts. This evening enjoy a shared boat ride on lake Pichola.
This morning we take you to the airport for your flight to Delhi (9W 3408 - 0820/1045 hrs) and your connecting flight to Srinagar (9W 605 – 1115 Hrs/1235 hrs). On arrival we transfer you to your Houseboat. This afternoon enjoy a boat ride on the Lake and then drive to visit the famous Mughal Gardens including a visit to Nishat & Shalimar Gardens.
After breakfast, enjoy a cultural tour to the old city visiting its old monuments and bazaars. Srinagar is the summer capital of Kashmir and a city wiith a distinctly Central Asian flavour. The old city includes a labyrinth of alleyways, mosques and houses that consitute the commercial heart of ther city.
Today we take a full day excursion to Gulmarg - 45 kms southwest from Srinagar. In spring, Gulmarg lives up to its name which means Meadow of Flowers; come winter, Gulmarg is India's major ski resort.
Today enjoy a tour of Pahalgam, 95km east of Srinagar, the town is flanked by steep fir-clad hills giving way to snow capped mountains, and was once a popular trekking base, and is now popular for short walks and pony rides.
Today we take the drive to Kargil (approx 4 hours), which lies midway between the alpine Valleys of Kashmir and the fertile reaches of the Indus Valley. Enroute we drive through Sonamarg, Zojila Pass & Drass valleys.
After breakfast we drive to Leh. Enroute we visit Mulbekh Rock cut statue of Maitreya Budhha, and Lamayuru Lunar landscapes. We visit the 1000 year old Alchi paintings & drive towards Leh visiting Likir Monastery, Sangam of Indus & Zanskar Rivers and the Hall of Fame museum.
Today enjoy a full day Indus Valley tour, including a visit to Shey Palace, Thiksey and Hemis Monasteries, and Stok Palace.
Today we drive to Nubra valley via the Khardongla Pass. The Valley is dominated by two broad empty flood plains through which the braided channels of the Nubra and Shyok Rivers wander before converging. This afternoon visit the white Sand Dunes and Hunder & Diskit Monasteries. Overnight at Deluxe Camp.
This morning we visit the Samstanling Monastery, and tihs afternoon drive back to Leh with the rest of the afternoon and evening free.
This morning we transfer you to the airport for your flight back to Delhi. (IC 446 – 1030 Hrs/1145 Hrs). On arrival we transfer you directly to your hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.
Today sees the end of your Indian adventure as we bid you farewell on your departure transfer to the airport.
