Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the disorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
We will transfer you to the train station for the train to Jhansi. On arrival we will transfer you through to Orchha and check you into the hotel. Orchha, situated on the banks of the River Betwa and famed for temples built by the 16th century Bundela rulers. We will take you on a guided afternoon sightseeing tour, taking in the main temples.
Free morning. We will transfer you to the train station for the train back to Jhansi and onward transfer through to Agra and check you into the hotel. Enjoy a New Year's Eve gala dinner at the hotel tonight.
This morning we explore Agra and head out to visit Agra fort, built under the Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565. It contains numerous palaces and a white marble mosque, with Itmad-ud-Daulah’s tomb a marble forerunner to the Taj. We also visit the Baby Taj. This afternoon is time at your leisure.
This morning we will take a drive out to the ghostly fortifed city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandonded only 8 years after its construction due to droughts in the area continiuing on you will arrive in to Jaipur 'The Pink City'. In the afternoon enjoy some free time to relax.
This morning we visit the delicate pink, magnificent fort-palace of Amber - a wonderful example of Rajput architecture just north of Jaipur. Subject to Government regulations, we will arrive in style riding on an elephant! In the afternoon you will enjoy a tour of the city. Highlights include the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.
We will transfer you to the airport for the flight to Mumbai (flight departing at 08:00). On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel and check you in. Then it is time for a sightseeing tour one of the most highly populated cities in the world, accommodating approximately 18 million people! Highlights include the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India, Marine drive, Mani Bhavan, Dhobi Talao, the Hanging Gardens and Crawford Market.
This morning after breakfast we take the cruise to visit Elephanta caves - Mumbai's premier tourist attraction. The rock-cut temples on peaceful Elephanta Island are thought to have been carved between 450 and 750 AD. The main cave contains large sculpted panels, including an astonishing 18-foot depiction of Shiva.
Today we head to the airport for the flight to Goa, departing at 12:05. On arrival in Goa we will transfer you to the hotel and check you in.
Sit back and relax here in this laid back coastal area of India, walk along palm fringed beaches looking for shells and watching the fishermen at work, or simply kick back and enjoy some fresh fruit cocktails served on a silver platter.
Time to head to Bangalore. We will transfer you to the airport for the flight leaving at 14:40. On arrival in Bangalore we will transfer you to the hotel and check you in.
Bangalore with its salubrious climate, tree-lined avenues, trendy downtown, and the software flood, Bangalore truly offers one a picture of striking contrasts. There are old beautiful bungalows, parks, hallowed places of worship and traditional market-places on the one hand, balancing with fashionable shopping malls, pubs, new architectural wonders and modern looking religious centres on the other. Enjoy a half day of sightseeing. Highlights include the Botanical Gardens, Vidhana Souda and Cubon Park.
An early morning start today as we head to Chennai. We will transfer you to the train station for the train to Bangalore which departs at 6am. You will arrive at 11am and check you into the hotel. In the afternoon we will take you on a guided sightseeing tour of Chennai. Sightseeing will include the Government Museum, Santhome Cathedral Church, Kapaleshwara Temple and Marina Beach.
Today, we visit Kanchipuram, one of sacred cities in India plus also the seaside town of Mahabalipuram, famous for its shore temple. The city is also famous for handwoven silk. In Mahabalipuram, the huge rock-cut sculptures and mandapams (pillared pavilions) date from the 5th to 8th centuries.
