This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque. This afternoon why not further enhance your exploration of this busting city with an afternoon guided journey through the New Delhi area the highlights will include India gate a drive past parliamentary buildings and President's house, a guided visit to Humayun's tomb then concluding with sightseeing to UNESCO World Heritage Site Qutub minar. This morning we will drive to Deeg interestingly during the Raj the British people couldn't enter the city, the last wish of British people was to see the Deeg palace when they were leaving India but the royal jat raja did not allow them. Today you get to see the famous Water Palace. Enjoy lunch in a historic mansion in Bharatpur before our drive to Agra for a guided tour of the Taj and free time to enjoy the sunset.
Today we will have a sightseeing tour to the Agra Fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! Afternoon visit to the ghostly former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri, abandoned due to lack of water. Returning later afternoon into Agra time permitting we will visit the Tomb of Emperor Akhbar in Sikandra.
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Gwalior this is around a 3 hours journey sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. There are some small towns passed along the way, if interested the driver can stop and you can wander around. Arrive Gwalior and enjoy the later afternoon at leisure to explore.
Today we enjoy a full day guided tour of Gwalior's huge fort that was constructed in the 15th century, a vast complex that encompasses several interesting temples, ruined palaces after we visit the deserted Man Singh Palace and its subterranean rooms is a definite highlight of the day.
We continue our exploration of Gwalior today visiting the Jai Vilas Palace and a few other highlights. The afternoon is then at your leisure to further explore.
After check out at noon we drive to Orchha, but first stop is the small town of Datia mentioned in Mahabharata as the Daityavakra it is most famous for the 17 th century Palace of Raja Bir Singh Deo (No guide with you but your driver will show you the entrance to interesting sites. We then proceed to Orchha - which is approximate 18 kms. Arrive and check in at the hotel. Evening at your leisure.
Enjoy the day at your leisure to explore this fascinating town which is situated on the banks of the River Betwa, Orchha is set amongst a wonderful complex of well-preserved 16th century temples and palaces I am sure you will be more than enchanted exploring today.
Morning or afternoon entirely your choice we will drive to Khajuraho. Arrival and check into your hotel.
Today enjoy a half day guided tour of the Hindu temples which were built during the Chandela dynasty over a 100 year burst of creative genius from 950-1050 AD. The afternoon you can then explore further at your leisure.
After check out we will take you to the airport for the 2 pm flight to Varanasi. Arriving there our local rep awaits to transfer you to your hotel. This evening is at your leisure.
This morning early we enjoy a sunrise boat ride on the holy Ganges where we’ll view the ancient religious tradition of ritual cleansing that takes place on the many riverbank ghats (riverside steps). This afternoon perhaps opt for a journey of discovery about how Buddha passed much time in Varanasi with a visit to Sarnath. Alternately enjoy free time to explore. Today enjoy full day with your guide visiting the amazing sites of this ancient city places covered will be Alamgir Mosque, Bharat Mata Temple, Government Museum with interesting antiquities, Great Mosque of Aurangzeb, Pandit Malaviya Temple, Ram Nagar Fort and Museum.
This morning after breakfast and check out an included visit to Chunar, 40 kms from Varanasi, is a town with a huge fort overlooking the river Ganges. Former site of many battles, the fort not only has great views of the Ganges, but a sun dial, a huge well, prison an execution room. It is a good option to see the Ganges outside of the crowds in Varanasi. When ready we return to Varanasi and take you to the station for the sleeper train to Delhi.
Your train arrives into Delhi in the morning to the start of a new day and the gathering hustle and bustle. Our rep will be waiting for you, but make sure you take a moment to try some chai, hot tea from one of the vendors, before transferring to your hotel. Today is the day to shop till you drop! we are giving you a free day to roam and explore the city until your heart is content and your wallets empty. All your friends back home expectant of gifts will lead you to many of Delhi's great souvenir shops.
