Namaste! Welcome to India and New Delhi the capital city of India. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel with the rest of the day yours to relax after your long flight.
Today we explore both Old and New Delhi - the order of New Delhi is a huge contrast to the unorganised chaos of the Old City. But both are just as appealing. Highlights we be the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid - India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat - the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.
Today, we drive to Jaipur. Affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan. We enjoy a tour of the City Palace, (watch out for snake charmers that dot our route) and Jantar Mantar - an old yet cleverly designed space observatory.
We travel beyond Jaipur to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort - a sprawling Rajput concoction which hugs the hill on which it was built and overlooks the hot plains below. By elephant we arrive at the top we'll tour the fort’s well-preserved interior and grounds. Back in Jaipur, enjoy the remains of the day your way.
En route to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water. In Agra enjoy touring the legendary Taj Mahal and witnessing a glorious golden sunset.
This morning we head out to explore the Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. During its history it has been a palace, a fort and a prison! Tonight travel by the AP express train to Nagpur.
Arriving into Nagpur onward transfer to Pench National Park, located in the southern reaches of the Satpura hill range. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive to see the wildlife.
Not only Tigers can be seen but also Leopards, sambar, nilgai, chital Jungle cats, Indian and palm civets can also be spotted. Additionally, there are more than 170 species of birds including several migratory species. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives today.
This morning enjoy the last of your game drives at Pench. Afternoon transfer to Kanha National Park and check in. The Park is widely considered the greatest of India’s wildlife reserves, encompassing some 940-sq km of deciduous forest, savannah grassland, hills and an extensive network of rivers and streams.
Also present in the natural habitat is a variety of wildlife including leopard, chital, sambar, swamp deer, Indian bison, striped hyena, panther, antelope, Barasingha or swamp deer (plucked from near extinction in the 1960s) and of course, tiger. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives today.
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park. This evening we transfer you with packed dinner from the hotel to the train station in Jabalpur for the Jbp Ndls Sup Express train to Mathura.
Arriving into Mathura we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Check in and relax - head out and explore Vrindavan by day itis a wonderful town full of temples you can wander around and visit them hear the devotees play music in worship.
Free day -- catch a rickshaw the 3 km to Vrindavan or you can walk and play Holi along the way (WARNING - do not wear clothes you like - be prepared to be completely covered in dye and colored powders today)
