Welcome to India and the start of your incredible journey with On the Go Tours. On arrival at Delhi's international airport our local rep will be there to greet you and transfer you to your hotel where the remainder of the day can be enjoyed at leisure.
After breakfast this morning we'll transfer you to the airport for your flight to Bagdogra (9W 711 - 1210 / 1430). Upon arrival we'll transfer you to your hotel in Darjeeling (approx. 1.5hr drive).
Enjoy a drive to Tiger Hill to catch sunrise over the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga - the world’s third highest mountain. Continuing by toy train, enjoy a visit to the Ghoom Gompa (monastery) followed by a city sightseeing tour and a visit to a tea estate.
This morning we transfer back to Bagdogra for your flight to Varanasi via Kolkata (9W 7082 1210 / 1310 and 9W 2893 1505 / 1650). Upon arrival at Varanasi airport we will transfer you to your hotel.
Varanasi is one of India's most holy cities, abundant with temples and labyrinthine streets. In the early morning enjoy a boat ride on the holy Ganges River. Later in the day we embark on a tour of Varanasi. In the evening, visit the ghats (stone steps) on the Ganges River to participate in a Deepmala Ceremony, during which earthen lamps are set afloat on the water as an offering for your good health and prosperity.
This morning we transfer you to the Nepali border where you will pass through immigration and customs. Once on the other side, continue to the Buddhist pilgrimage site of Lumbini.
This morning we visit the birth place of Lord Bhuddha and surrounding monasteries before proceeding to Chitwan National Park. Widely acknowledged as one of the finest National Parks in Asia, Chitwan supports a population of a variety of species including Indian one horned rhino, bison, sloth bear, wild boar, leopard and of course the magnificent, Bengal tiger. This evening enjoy a game drive.
Enjoy today partaking in game spotting activities such as a nature walk or elephant safari, all bookable and payable locally at your hotel.
After breakfast we transfer to the picturesque lakeside town of Pokhara (approx. 5.5hr drive). Hotel check in. This afternoon enjoy an afternoon tour with a boat ride on Phewa Lake.
Enjoy a morning at leisure in Pokhara, soaking up the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains before we transfer you to Kathmandu, Nepal's enigmatic capital (approx. 4hrs drive).
Resembling a medieval city of temples, shrines and living gods, Kathmandu is Nepal’s biggest and most cosmopolitan city, a meeting place of a dozen ethnic groups and once one of the most important points on the caravan routes between Tibet and India. This morning you will enjoy a city tour of Kathmandu, which will include Swayambhunath, Kastha Mandap and Kumari Devi. An afternoon visit to Patan and Tibetan handicrafts centre is also included.
Today marks the end of your journey with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport for your included flight to Delhi where services end.
