Day 1: Chennai - Mahabalipuram

Welcome to Chennai a bustling metropolis with beautiful classical and colonial European styled buildings, lining the city’s thoroughfares. Upon arrival you will be met by our representatives and transferred by a private air conditioned vehicle to your hotel at Mahabalipuram.

Day 2: Mahabalipuram

After breakfast enjoy a half day of sight seeing of Mahabalipuram. Marvel at the Beautiful and romantic Shore Temple which is weathered by wind and sea. It represents the final stage of Pallava Art. The rock carvings of Arjuna's Penance the most realistic and unpretentious rock carvings in India. And visit Five Rathas the rock cut temples resembling chariots. This afternoon spend the rest of the day at your lesiure. Maybe head down to the beach and watch the local fishermen pull in their boats and their catch of the day.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

This morning after Breakfast we travel to the charming coastal town and one time French colony town of Pondicherry. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure exploring the city on your own. Maybe visit the Sri Aurobindo handmade paper factory or the Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple.

Day 4: Pondicherry - Tanjore

This morning after breakfast we travel to the relaxing and world heritage listed town of Tanjore. Spend the afternoon on a half day sightseeing tour of the Tajore Art gallery and the Brihadeeswara Temple the crowning glory of Chola temple architecture built in 1010 by Raja Raja.

Day 5: Tanjore - Chettinadu

This morning after breakfast we travel to the town of Chettinadu well known for its Chettinad cuisine, mansions, and temples. Upon arrival check into your hotel then spend the rest of your day at leisure to explore the town on your own. Try sampling some of their famous cuisine or check out some of the Mansions.

Day 6: Chettinadu - Madurai

This morning after Breakfast we travel to Madurai a city with a recorded history dating back to the 3rd century BC. Upon arrival check into your hotel. This evening we visit the Meenakshi temple to watch the Aarti and Closing ceremony.

Day 7: Madurai - Thekkady

This morning after breakfast we travel to Thekkady famous for its sanctuary and dense evergreen, moist deciduous forests and savanna grass lands, herds of elephants, tigers, lion-tailed Macaques and Nilgiri Langurs. This afternoon you get the opportunity to see these animals with a visit to the Periyar National Park or if you would prefer enjoy a boat ride on Lake Periyar.

Day 8: Thekkady - Alleppey

Today we will drive to Alleppey where we will embark on a traditional rice boat. It is a simply furnished for a journey through the backwaters in and around Alleppey. Crewed by a poler to push the rice boat through the water, a distance of some 20 kms will be covered, during which time the boat will glide past colourful local villages. As for dining, the on-board cook will prepare meals using fresh local produce.

Day 9: Alleppey - Kochi

Drive to Kochi and transfer to hotel for overnight stay. Formerly a princely state, Kochi is also fondly referred to as “The Queen of the Arabian Sea”. Tonight enjoy a traditional Kathakali dance performance.

Day 10: Kochi

The touring today includes the visit to Dutch Palace built by the Portuguese for a local King in 1555 A.D. The famous Jew Street, a cul-de-sac leading to the beautiful Parsi Synagogue built in 1568. A walking tour of Fort Cochin will take you through the streets still graced with traces of Portuguese, Dutch & British colonial architecture. Enjoy a sunset cruise to view the Chinese fishing nets.

Day 11: Kochi - Bangalore

This morning after breakfast we have a morning excursion to Viacom to visit the coir villages to see the coir making, pot making and mat weaving. Later we return to Kochi to board the overnight sleeper train to Bangalore.

Day 12: Bangalore - Mysore

Good morning and welcome to Bangalore upon arrival you will be met by our representatives and transferred by a private and airconditioned vehicle to Mysore. Upon arrival check into your hotel and then later we visit the Mysore Palace the official residence of the Wodeyars - the erstwhile royal family of Mysore, and also houses two durbar halls (ceremonial meeting hall of the royal court).

Day 13: Mysore

This morning after breakfast enjoy a full day city sightseeing in Mysore where you will see the Chamundi Hill. The hills are named after the goddess Chamundeswari (also Chamundi) because according to legend, the demon Mahishasura was killed by the Goddess after a fierce battle. Also we will spend some time in the Devaja fruit-vegetable market.

Day 14: Mysore - Chennai

Our representative and driver will meet you at your hotel to transfer you by private vehicle to the Railway Station in time for your departure from Mysore by Train No 12008 AC Chair Car to Chennai. Upon arrival in Chennai you will be met by our representative and driver to transfer you by a private vehicle to your hotel.

Day 15: Chennai

Today we say good bye as your tour comes to an end. You will be met at the hotel by our representative and driver to transfer you to the airport by a private vehicle for your departure to Onward Destination by flight .
